Buying some bits from France and have the option to pay Visa debit (Euro's) or PP which uses my local currency.
Is there a way of working out which is better (cheaper)?

It's 250EU but if I click on the GBP option on the website it goes up by £17..

Is your Visa Debit card a Euro card or a GBP?
If it is a GBP card linked to your bank account there may be a fixed transaction fee or a percentage charged but you will get close to the interbank rate at the time of purchase. Check with your card provider.
If it is a preloaded Euro card then use that. The pound will probably continue to weaken against the Euro so buying stuff from the Euro Zone will get more expensive over the coming months.
After the BREXIT vote..... who knows what will happen to currencies, VAT and import duties?

Thanks Matt, it's a GBP card. Rate seems pretty good from the Visa website 🙂

I'd never pay in GBP for anything abroad. The 'local' exchange rate in the shop or in this case PayPal, is always worse the the interbank rate in my experience.
