Currently renting a house with a friend but not for much longer.
My sister is in the position to help me with one of those family springboard mortgages but I will need to move out before i'll be able to buy somewhere. I'll either be lodging in a mates house or short-term letting a flat from a different one.
How can i keep myself living somewhere legally for mortgage applications etc. when i'll not really have a fixed abode?

And make sure that if you want a mortgage, you are on electoral roll asap and ALL your relevant bank/insurance etc goes to that address. They check thoroughly.

Think that's what i need to make sure happens wherever i move to. Sister actually lives 200 miles away, but i may be able to use another siblings address nearby if necessary

I was in this situation when I bought - I had something like 6 addresses over the last 2 years due to various work things. All I did was make sure that I was on the electoral roll (as stated above),be honest about how many places I'd lived at and include details to the lender/broker about why the number of addresses. Wasn't any issue at all for me. I'd just make sure you get on the electoral roll (bear in mind it can take up to 3 mo tha to appear) and should be good to go.

I'm a bit less worried about this now. I'll speak to my family and see who minds me "living with them" for a while to get this sorted.
