You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Morning,
A beautiful anonymous donor by the name of Marion from Winchelsea* has donated an amazing sum of money to go towards our quest to raise awareness and end sarcoma. I have been emailed by countless people asking if there would be wristbands, T-shirts, frame/car stickers or other merchandise available in support of Bullheart/Sarcoma UK. So we have decided, in collaboration with Al from SpokeShirts.co.uk, to produce a run of T-shirts initially to gauge interest, with the profits from each shirt going to two charities; Sarcoma UK, and the Bristol Childrens Hospital.
Now we need your suggestions for catchy slogans. The standard tag line for Team Bullheart is;
"Because we don't give up. Ever"
But I like them a little edgier;
"Kicking Sarcoma in the nuts since 2009"
"Know your limits. Then exceed them"
Hey! Sarcoma! F*&# you!
Please post your suggestions and we'll go from there. Many thanks!
(*This is not his/her real name or location. Thanks Marion)
I like the "Know your limits" idea.
Reason? I think people will like a shirt that doesn't specifically refer to one cancer although of course the sarcoma logo will be prevalent. plus of course, it has a 'mtb' feel to it 🙂
I'll buy one.
Sarcoma Sucks
Bullheart 1 Sarcoma 0
I came, I saw, I kicked Sarcomas ass
Excellent choice!
Just trawling through some of my emails, and found these;
At what point do you give in? You don't
Beating cancer through strength, courage and lunacy
Outnumbered, not out-gunned
i liked the "i've been diagnosed with bullheart and i'm really scared" that someone posted on the other thread.
What about this one?
Because I will not yield to cancer
"it's not what you say, it's what you do"
Owning Sarcoma with a pair of bombers since 2009.
'i wee'd in sarcomas shoes'
not now cancer, I'm busy
Use the rhythm of a dancer to beat Sarcoma Cancer.
Do you reckon they'll be ready in time for the TransProvence at the end of September?
Personally, I like the standard tagline. Just enough gravitas (and truth) in it.
You could put the Bullheart cycling events achieved to date on the back, perhaps?
Happy to take some off your hands when you get them done.
S - uddenly
A - all
R - ational
C - onstraints
O - bligingly
M - ove
A - way
or something like dat..
"Bullheart: Making cancer his tiny little b**** since '09"
Maybe use this as a base?
when fighting a bear, you don't stop when you're tired, you stop when the bear is tired
change tired for want to?
Get busy living, or get busy dying?
bovine inside?
rip off the intel logo a bit 🙂 (not too much though, dont want you living through this then getting a fat lawsuit slapped on you)
I once killed a cancer inside of me, just to watch it die.
I like
"Know your limits. Then exceed them"

Are you doing cycling shirts too? I'll have one if they aren't too minging. 😉
Beating my meat since 2009!
Flippant (sorry).

+2 (1 for me and 1 for mrs nbt if they can be done in girly cycling shirts)
Bullheart- Putting Down Cancer since 2009
Here's my contribution matey - if you need anymore ideas drop me a line/mail.
I'll be kicking the Romster t-shirts back up very soon so I am in busy design mode at the moment, I had to put it all on hold to move house and get settled, 2 and half year olds need a lot of persuading so time to run it all just evaporated!
Anyway dude take a look - if Al needs any help give him my mail.
Hope your keeping well. Andy
i like the because we dont give up ever one and the know your limits one ...
some of them are too in your face and i wouldnt want to wear it unless i had actually suffered sarcoma.
here cancer, have some fist pie.
Probably a bit to much print but...
Bullheart Logo on the front. Centre left - just where it should be!
On the back, like a bands 'tour date' schedule only it's significant events - perhaps including personal stuff

"Mark defeated terminal cancer and all I got was this crappy shirt"
This is definitely the best one 😆
terminal is open to interpretation
Idave has a winner ! I REALLY like that ....
Keep Calm and cancer gone
Liking that a lot.....
Replace the crown in the usual 'Keep Calm and Carry On' posters with the Bullheart logo et-voila!

+1 for me, too.
Being all grown up and 'markety', people see/hear so many empty platitudes these days that stuff like 'Know your limits. Then exceed them' rarely mean anything. Anything that suggests that anyone can beat 'terminal' cancer is out too, as Marks story only proves that Mark can beat it. I'd wear a t-shirt that just said petesgaff - then you get to tell the story to people who ask what it means. But I'm weird.
Not really relevant to this thread, but you should consider making your original thread into a book. I'll bet there are plenty of people in the non-MTB community who would welcome such a positive message and extraordinary story.
I'll have a shirt too when they go on general release. 🙂
not now cancer, I'm busy
I like this, there are too many up there ^^^^^^^that are either too wordy or just trying too hard to be witty with a serious message, and fail on both counts.
I like the idea of the "tour dates", branding bullheart as a rock band could work, except you wouldn't get any support from TJ. 🙁
Maybe something more abstract, more image and less wordy would raise more interest and questions.
just my two penneth.
+1 on the book, can't see why Macmillan wouldn't want to be involved? my dad had super rare cancer too, only person alive with the diagnosis in the world that the docs are aware of, set up a charity for all bladder cancers after finding out there isnt a bladder cancer charity in the UK with his consultant and other members from his team and support groups around the country, he wrote a load of blogs from diagnosis, through to treatment and setting up the charity... fallen out the habit now but a lot of the macmillan crew (other blog writers, forum users) kept telling him to make a small book out of it.
always nice to read a positive story of recovery when you're facing an uncertain future and your worlds been turned upsidedown!
anyway, back to t-shirts. 'hey cancer, i'm gunna boop you on the head... BOOP... lol'
tri·umph (noun) the act, fact, or condition of being victorious or triumphant; victory; conquest.
Or some derivative thereof ...
"not now cancer, I'm busy "I like this
Me too. Simple, to the point and strong.
'not now cancer, i'm busy living' maybe?
or to take advantage of the current pop culture:
'not now cancer, i'm busy WINNING'
EDIT: sorry that one was just gross..
I'm loving
'not now cancer, I'm too busy WINNING'
not now cancer, i'm busy WINNING
I'd leave the verb out and let people decide how they want to interpet it.
Not now cancer, I'm too busy.....
Too busy what? Riding? Winning? Farting? Shagging?
If people have to think about it, they'll remember it for longer. All IMVHO.
I like

"Know your limits. Then exceed them"
"Not now! Cancer, I'm busy.....
I'll definitely buy one, as when they're available see if the mods will let you have a sticky for a week or so with details so people don't miss it
For Charidee and all, not everybody's on here as much as some
see with slogans, you want as few words as necessary not as many as possible.
so 'i'm busy', says all that 'i'm too busy winning' says. but with fewer words. IMO
"I would come to the pub but I've got to pick up some railway sleepers"
Sniff. 😥
Well I reckon the Within Temptation lyrics which are my skype signature would be pretty appropriate - 'Someone has to take a stand against evil . . . why should it not be me? - although I guess that only works if you're into WT. Second the suggestions for 'not now' and 'know your limits' though. I'd definitely buy stickers and wristbands too.
Liking the "I'm busy" idea.
Or maybe, "Sarcoma, I fart in your general direction".
No your limits
Sarcoma!
Do what?
Mark will you just take Elf to the pub to stop his incessant whinging. I can paypal you the first round and put £10 to http://www.justgiving.com/teambullheart
PLEASE????
😀
Sarcoma? Sarpunto.
Works better in Spanish 🙂
I'd go with the "not now I'm busy" slogan.
Not now cancer, Im busy..
+1
Cancer, 'we don't serve your kind here.' In a moss isley canteena style.
I like this one:
Beating cancer through strength, courage and lunacy
with that little heart with horns...love it! PS will you do them small enough for girlies?
I am not very good at slogans, all I can come up with is:
Sarcoma, riding it free...
I do like, 'Know your limits. Then exceed them'
I like the idea of cycling jersey too.
Worth a click . . .
"I would come to the pub but I've got to pick up some railway sleepers"
Brilliant! Says it all!
How about:
"Not now cancer, Bullheart's busy."
Slipping in to work (marketing) mode for a moment, it depersonalises it so people without cancer won't feel odd wearing a t-shirt that says I'M busy and it builds the Bullheart brand - it's an amazing story and will give strength to so many people.
Alternatively,
"Hey cancer, **** you."
Bullheart, 2009
Whatever it ends up as, keep it short and allow loads of people to wear it - it'll spread the word more effectively.
</marketing_speak>
"Not now cancer, Bullheart's busy."
The best so far IMO.
"Not now! Cancer, I'm busy....
+1
"We were headstrong & heartstrong. Sarcoma's long gone"
"Not now cancer, Bullheart's busy."
as already said better than "I'm busy" as I haven't had cancer so a bit different!
"Not now cancer, we're busy..."
I really like 'terminal is open to interpretation'
Bastardizing Tupac 'Cancer followed me but i murdered him first'.
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. ~Winston Churchill
"Don't walk in cancer's shadow"
i'd like one with just the logo.
"Not now cancer, we're busy..."
+1 for this. Only punctuated correctly. You need a comma after 'now'.
They're all pretty good. I'll take one.
Colour choice though???
Hmm.. some of these might be considered bragging and could be upsetting for people who are not winning their particular battle.. no?
I'm not articulate enough to think of a slogan but I really like:
"Not now Cancer, I'm busy....
Just because I have not been affected by cancer so far does not mean that I won't in the future. This implies that I am too busy enjoying life to worry about it now or in the future.
+1 for cycling top please.
IDaves' "terminal is open to interpretation" is wicked...
I'd have one with just the logo as well, maybe note on the justgiving address to go with it?
"Greg was right....."
"...and so was Bully"
"Never give in ,never surrender ." these words from mr Churchill have got me through my few skin cancer operations and the bouts of derpression that have proceeded and followed .
A bullheart a day kicks the sarcoma away!!
