I need a new torch for soft soldering. Currently use my dads old burner on a cylinder but the burner is disintegrating and is too big really if doing small 15 mm pipe work. Also used to heat part when needed.

I like torches that connect to refillable cylinders as I hate running out of gas and the waste of the small torches.

Not many torches like this bullfinch

and some silverline

Anyone have experience with either?

Not a plumber using this everyday.

Bullfinch or Sievert.

The Silverline one just isn't in the game as far as quality is concerned.

We've had both at work.

Generally it's the lowest quality they can get away with. Every silveline product I've bought has been a dissapointment...

I recently got a Rothernberger Superfire 2 torch, 2 x propane bottles, 2 x MAPP bottles and a storage bag for less than £90 on eBay. You'll not go wrong with the Rothernberger torch and it'll take a long time and a lot of soldering to get through 4 gas bottles.
