I've been roped into building a webpage for my elderly neighbour who has just a built a little bunkhouse. Ideally I'd like to use something along the line of Google Sites to minimise hassle. I'd also like to be able to handover so they can maintain it. Still, I'd like it it look good as they've been very good neighbours.
Nothing fancy required, just a page I post contact details and pictures, and possible embed a Google Map location.
Any suggestions? 🙂
WordPress?
Wix?
WordPress, simple, plugins for everything, job done.
Moonfruit does that. Easy to use and free.
My Dad's 75 and managing a Weebly site with virtually no input from me and seems happy with it. Typical stuff with news, information, contact details. Only technical bit I did was the domain stuff.
WiX is similar I believe.
Wordpress perhaps though can still be a little complicated for some older folk to maintain. I use it myself though not so keen on layout. It's either templates that don't quite fit what you want or you have to dive into PHP, HTML and CSS. Weebly/WiX is simple drag and drop stuff.
Oh and my Mum manages a site with some Serif software though it ends up looking like an old FrontPage site from the 90s 😀
