I know it is discussed here quite often, but we are in the process of designing a new garage which will be a normal sing,e garage with a lean to on the side for secure bike storage.

Are there any good examples out there?

Should we build it from wood or brick and mortare?

What are the pitfalls?

We have a basement spit is really just storage

I know permitted development here states it must be built from non combustible materials if within 1 (or is it 2) meters of your boundary.
Check out what you can build first and then go from there.

I don't think that will be an issue here (Denmark) as many buildings are timber and we are replacing an existing wooden garage with a new one plus a bit on the side

I thought there would be some takers for this, certainly some of you have been known to show off your outbuildings from time to time 😉

Interested in this, would have thought there are prefab wall/roof panels around to use?

You can buy precut kits for various garages and sheds, but none that are exactly what we want. I also lik the idea of designing and building my own.

Tommys workshop looks good, I'll see if I can find it online.
