Need somewhere to keep my tools in my new man shed.
I’d say look for ‘tool chest’ on local fb marketplace?
I agree, buy secondhand, with ball bearing slides where possible.
An old kitchen cabinet or two can work. Then with some old worktop to make a bench surface.

Yup,and look for steel cabinets like Bisley
I find them just as good as my tool chest for keeping bike parts and small tools.
I'm not sure what your budget is, but this Halfords tool chest is pretty good value. I'm really happy with mine.
It's not cheap, but far cheaper than a lot of the other tool units out there.
Another vote for Halfords - but go for the ranges with ball bearing slides.
They seem to do bundle offers every bank holiday weekend..
I have a Hilka one which I bought when it was on a special offer, less than half the price currently at screwfix ( see link below). My brother has some of the Halfords ball bearing ones. I would say they are probably better made than the Hilka but it fitted the space I wanted to put it in better.
Sgs industrial worth a look too.
The range have some draper ones online too
Not one like mine (random old steel red one from my dad, SGS I think). I got a tool stuck behind one of the drawers at the weekend and had to empty everything else out and shake it around to try and dislodge it. Hell of an arm workout. Any my feeler gauges got munched in the process.
SGS Engineering do some reasonably priced stuff if you catch it in the sale, otherwise Halfords Professional with a trade card.

I just got one from them 2 weeks ago, very good pricing and no issues with it, easy to set up.
Depends how urgent but normally quite a few pop up on eBay/FB marketplace - Halfords/SGS/Clarke/Sealey etc, sort by distance to you.
Or Halfords when they next do a 20% off sale which seems to be quite often - just the standard range I wouldn't bother with the Advanced.
They're all a bit thin metal/cheap to varying degrees but they don't seem to actually break very easily.
Another vote for the SGS here. Ive had mine several years and cant fault it
I can't recommend, but I just bought a Hardcastle 7 drawer base unit for £130 brand new off ebay. The same unit is sold under different brands for a fair bit more so it ought to be fine, though it's not arrived yet. US Pro Tools seem a good option too.
Used to always recommend Halfords or Machine Mart but they just seem priced too high now, even when there's sales on.

Most times, the drawers can be slid out individually, I'm forever jamming things in my Clarke one and there's a wee button on the slider that lets it come all the way out.
Get the Halfords ones when in one of their frequent sales. We have a range of tool chests in the workshop and for the price, the Halfords are hard to beat, like their Advanced tools..
Not used them, but these seem to get decent reviews:
US Pro Tool Chest
Ive got the big stainless one in their logo, bought it or one that looks like it about 20 years ago and would hate to see what it costs now. Bloody good toolbox though.
Sgs vs US Pro
Seems the same kit so Just find the cheapest
Just received the Hardcastle one I mentioned earlier- it's a little flimsier feeling than my ancient Clarke but I think not in any way that matters, the drawers load up fine and roll nicely, they just have a bit more play when empty. But it's not far off half the price my Clarke would be new, today, and I'm pretty sure it's going to do the job just fine, just maybe with a slightly less satisfying feel.
Aldi have some for £40 just now
