Since I lost my iPhone I've not had the means to take photo's when out and about so am looking for a budget digital camera.

What can I expect to get for my money, say, sub £100?

Thanks folks.

there's a number in the panasonic lumix range for great prices.

I have an FS62 that has been excellent. One on ebay for £80 new now.
Other model numbers for £100 ish with higher pixel counts.

Samsung Mv800 is a great camera, packed with features.

Check out this reputable guy who's selling one as new for £70.

can get a decent little compact for that price but so many choices. i would say dont get too carried away with megapixels and zoom, each persons got there own requirements but for me it would be fast startup to first shot time and shutter lag. image stabilisation would be handy.
i lost my old canon ixus which was great all round but im sure there are good nikon, sony alternatives etc.

+1 for Canon Ixus - OH has a 115HS and it's fantastic.

Look for vennal cameras on ebay - you can pick up a factory reconditioned lumix for about half price.

I got an FS16 for £70 and it's ace for the money

Budget £66 Pentax K100D here, with a further £60 on extra couple of lenses later:

Matt great photos

I have a 6 year old Nikon D70s so I agree about the used option for DSLR

With compacts its less clear cut

Oh, and if you go Pentax DSLR then ANY Pentax lens will fit - the pic of my Ben eating a biscuit is taken on a £17 manual 50mm prime lens of some 30-40 years age...
