Just bought one of these to tidy up the study and not sit drumming the fingers whilst waiting for the sad old Dell PC with 512mb of RAM to wake up.
Ride cancelled due to the rain, which is now coming down sideways 🙁
No idea what to do now...
Started pissing down moments after I'd finished my porridge and filled my bottle.
Watching yesterdays Tour De Suisse highlights, MotoGP followed by the final Dauphine stage later...
Swimming with Mrs fadda and junior today, after getting rained and hailed on at Cwmcarn yesterday
Prolonged wet spell today will probably be the kick up the arse to try and recover the desktops corrupted hard drive. This will be dull, my tools of choice are usually large and heavy.
In fact, it's so appealing I may actually still go out on the bike.
Trip up to Bristol in a minute, picking a mate up on the way:
Go Outdoors
Bespoke Bicycle Show at The Paintworks
Lunch somewhere nice
Range (St Philip's Marsh)
If it dries up later, I might wash my bike - filthy from yesterday.
do people melt when it rains?
The Cosford Air Show is today... it's going to be a soggy one! 🙁
Why couldn't this 'ere drought have lasted just one more blummin' day?!
Sunny here in leeds. 😀
I was going to ride... but... maybe not 😳
Going to spec out a bike and the replacement bits for my current one (can't afford ANY of it yet, hence just speccing it all up!). Might also start prepping my machine for formatting at the end of the week, fed up of ubuntu telling me that I only have 500mb remaining on 2 of my drives!
Chunky - everyone knows how dangerous rain is. It can kill you, you know. Best stay out of it and eat cake...
I'm manning a bouncy castle at a family fun day 🙁
Is the Kington rough ride today so thatll be fun for everyone , blummin rain
Still hanging on here, meeting the olds up at the reservoir with the mrs and junior no2, all going for a spin, not seen my mum on a bike since????
Best stay out of it and eat cake...
Good idea. I'm doing that.
Heading up to Laggan soon...
Oh, i forgot - I'll also be watching the Leogang World Cup!
So wish I'd gone out yesterday now but the weather reports yesterday afternoon said that it was just going to be cloudy today. Now there are saying its going to pee down all day 🙁
I'll still go out but I'm digging out the mudguards and all weather gear to trudge around the Surrey Hills.
Sleeping, yet another weekend of nights saving lives/ drinking tea 😥
Winter seems to have passed NZ by so far , has been somewhat moist but quite warm. Beautiful day today -2hr paddle, 3hrMTB and then an orienteering race. All in warm sun albeit a bit nippy in the valleys. Relaxing with a few reds and the fire cranking while assessing the laydeez in the netball !
Drink
sunny here too. but I'm only 10 miles west of Leeds
Relax and watch the free MBUK DVD then out for lunch with friends.
Just did a 90 minute Road Race in Southerly gusting to force 6 with sideways rain. Now relaxing with a lovely cup of Big Maggy's soon to be followed by an hour on the PS3 until the wife comes home with the kids..then off to the inlaws for lunch and my folks for dinner.
Was going to a Classic Car Show but they called it off. Jessies.
Unpacking last box after house move. A bit of work then riding, I like the rain.
just back from a ride up the malverns and now a fried double egg sandwich mmmmmm
Supposed to be doing a barbeque for niece's 16th Birthday.
Will also be watching Leogang World Cup.
Fitting a WetScream and going for a loamy run or two before watching Rnd 3.
Celebrating Pentecost.
We were going to do the Rough Ride. Er no thanks.
It'll be ride or swim later depending on the weather state.
Meanwhile, work (=cash 🙂 )
Just been for a wet run over the hills with the dog, hoped it would be enough to tire both of us out, but I don't think it's worked!
About to make some fresh coffee and contemplate whether to sign up to one of those dating website things - wet Sundays surely being one of the reasons to have an OH 🙂 any recommendations for one's where people's idea of being active extends beyond 'country walks' ???
raining in the FoD, stripping bike down and ordering last minute bits and bobs for Mayhem, trying to recover from my suspected cracked rib from Bikefest,
Still in bed at the minute 😆 Weather looks crap everywhere - can anyone confirm whether it's alright at Woburn or is met office right in saying rain all day? Was gonna go down in the afternoon but don't fancy sandy grinding paste all in my bike.
Weather is quite lovely in Glasgow at the moment. Have got the shopping and haircut out the way, so now about to pop off for a wee run then after lunch a saunterly road bike ride.
(This is my first week allowed back exercising since March, so suspect I would have been doing these with a jolly big smile whatever the weather is/was.)
Off to have a look at Zestys in Wrexham, Sainsburys, pick up a bike box to strip and pack my sold Meta, watch the GP, go for a pint in the Rose & Crown, maybe an episode of Wallander, then bed. A full day.
Working ...but weather here is nice (Ayrshire)sun was even out earlier
although bit wet on my commute from work yesterday afternoon,
some house painting when i get home then a blast on the MTB tonight
only riding with a front brake just now until replacement rear arrives next week.... this should be entertaining
Still nice and sunny here in Kendal, rode most of yesterday so going to clean the camper then looking at a couple of houses.
Spent all day yesterday cleaning the computer room and dining room and food shopping, nice sunny day
Today got nowt to do and its raining
It's all wrong!
Today I will be bimbling around the house with no clear purpose, making cups of coffee, watching a bit of TV, maybe do some reading (‘Revelation Space’ – Alastair Reynolds & Christopher Hitchens archived ‘Slate’ articles) and just generally loafing. I’ll also be diving in & out of STW amusing myself at the expanse of peoples ego’s and ill-informedness (that last word doesn’t exist).
Been riding in the rain - practice for Mayhem as the forecast is for it to be like this all next weekend. Oh joy.
Just had a nice 3,5 hour bimble, should have splashed a bit of suncream on as the legs looked a bit red at one point. MotoGP then F1 and some other stuff.
I'll probably just start a season of 24, play guitar and drink copious amounts of tea.
Been watching it approach on this site http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
seems pretty accurate
just starting to rain now in silsden west yorks
Just back from a quick road ride. Started raining about 30 mins in. Stopped for a cup of tea then a blast back home in proper rain 🙁
Had a bath, lit the stove, got an afternoon of playing with apple TV and iPad followed by GP, tea and bed. Lovely.
Glad to have got out for at least a couple of hours.
Edit: cheers Don, that's just what we needed 🙄
I got soaked yesterday (summer riding kit, no raincoat) so the bike is staying firmly indoors today. Been watching films though so not all bad. Started with the Eagle which isn't bad at all
Sat in A&E for 3 hours at 6am morning waiting for a couple of stitches (gave up in the end).Watched f1 quali, watching moto gp now,to be followed by Leogang WC Downhill, moto 2,then F1 race.At some point I'll superglue the big gash in my hand up.
Reading the sunday papers, had a nice display over the house by the Red Arrows earlier before they left for the Cosford airshow
Working 🙁
Still don't mind as much when it is hosing it down outside and means I am off for a long wekkend this weekend coming!
Wet weather usually means it's quiet so I can catch up on paperwork/browse singletrack etc
Just ridden the Beijing mountain bike course in 38deg blue sky. Now sitting outside a bar with a cold beer watching the world go by. The 'sights' are good too. Not one to boast though 😉
up at 9am, had porridge, walked the dog.
been in the garage assembling bits for a hack build.
does a truvativ gpx? chainset run on external bearings??
repaired a puncture on the wifes bike, replaced her grips with some nice titec loc ons.
repaired 8 inner tubes.
just eaten a corned beef, onion, tomato and humus sandwich.
gonna watch the bikes at leogang, then walk the dog in the pi55ing rain.
then have a early evening sunday roast.
then watch super league tonight.
i do wish i could ride, cos i love riding in the rain.
MrsMCTD was up at 5.30 to clear some old kids toys at a car boot - was glorious sunshine then!
Kids got me up about 7.30, we all had breakfast, showers, did homework, I did the ironing while they played on the CBeebies website, watched Friday nights Tour series race, MrsMCTD returned at 11.00 after it had been raining for an hour with MCTToys (yay!), just had a big lunch of pancakes, lazy afternoon before Jnr's swimming club at 4.00, then a big roast dinner when we get back from that
Bin drizzling since I got up. Trying to fix stupid poxy bloody PC again. Having no luck. In a foul mood, can't even play COD4:MW to relieve some frustration. Virtually shooting someone in the head would make me feel a bit better right now....
been out all morning watching wife & daughters do the race for life (half hour run to warm them up, preceded by standing around in the rain for bleeding ages
as they say, there's no such thing as unsuitable weather (... but there are plenty of unsuitable activities 🙁 )

Watched Moto gp , now waiting for low water and the rain to ease off a touch and im off windsurfing . Then shower,Chicken Fajita's , F1 and sleep .
While walking across the park, with not another soul to be seen, watching my dog run around in the sideways rain, I wondered whether I should feel self righteous or a bit of a klutz. I think a bit of both will be fine. 🙂
misses is reading a book im sat browsing looking for flat bars staring out the window at the non stoping rain wondewr if its going to clear up for a nice commute tommorow...havent riden sins bikefest.
Oh, i forgot - I'll also be watching the Leogang World Cup!
yep! was very good! gwinner takes it again.
I think a good kip is on the cards.. spent the last couple of nights sleeping under canvas with family and friends..
3 under two's amongst a selection of other kids.. all full of high spirits..
I need a little holiday after that little holiday.. had to pack up the tents in a monsoon too..
Hmm... canceled bike ride and I'm now sat in the kitchen, writing a 3,500 word article for the next issue. Current word count: 343...
I reckon I'll be doing the same Monday and Tuesday too. Then it's Mayhem already!
Thurrock cycle marathon, 50 wet and windy miles.
been to gym and did 30k on the exercise bike in just under an hour, mrsconsequence is currently out riding in the wood/rain/mud with our friend, they'll get back here after the ride to a house smelling of roast dinner (i'm cooking a slow roasted chicken sunday super roast as i type)
settle down with the roast and watch the f1 together 😀 lovely.
Didn't rainhere til about 10.30 - but my riding mates weren't about and I didn't fancy getting wet so went to the indoor skatepark to ride the bowl and mini Ramps with a few lads from another forum. Was great. Trouble I have now is finding the time to do both activities! Gave up skating about 15 yrs ago but had a mid life crisis and bought a new deck 🙂
Spent the morning with the kids playing one of the free PS3 games from the welcome back offer then a couple of hours at he climbing wall...place was heaving.

Thanks for the spoiler you muppet!
Progressed to wrestling with my road bike trying to take a stuck pedal off whilst contemplating how to change a gear cable.
Going to have a break and take the dog out for a wet and windy run-around on the beach
Didn't get to ride today unfortunately/fortunately as I was busy becoming a qualified badminton coach. Quite pleased with myself, been meaning to do it for ages 😀
Pretty much wet myself at work listening to Rob Warner's commentary on the DH World Cup, now contemplating ditching cross country and getting a downhill rig (I believe that's the term?)...
Then it's off to the in-laws for roast dinner.

Up and at them early doors for a road spin then to the Scarecrow Show in the village in nice sunshine with the family (sarf Leeds here)
Home for lunch just as the heavens opened. Just woke up after sleeping off half a bottle of wine!
Had an organised farm visit to go on with little one, as its open farm Sunday today. Got soaked, but was good fun.
Oh and swapped my cleats over on my riding shoes earlier.

you may aswell watch it anyway ya Muppet!
Popped out to pick up some Sustrans stickers from a late Ranger's wife, then took the Octavia powerboating over to Malmesbury to visit friends at Abbey House. Lovely weather.
The Bespoke Bristol bike show was lovely - small but packed and lots of lovely people passionate about making bikes and bits - some really cool machines.
Pub lunch, then got home and watched Leogang WC DH - good stuff
Took Son1, Son2 and his friend around Swinley in the rain. Surprisingly empty. Think I saw four cyclists in all - and I thought mountain biking was for all weathers? Top tip... set the alarm for 17:35 to be back for hot chocolate at the cafe 😀
I think I spent longer rinsing the grit away...
Had a great ride today, done a loop from Thursley, thru to the Devils Punchbole, then the Temple of the Winds and returning towards the Devils Punchbowl. Had a complete soaking but still good. Didn't see a single mtber all day.
Racing at Hopton.
