no spoilers in case anyone is watching later on catch up.

Personnaly I love BTCC, even watching since the mid 90s. I know it lost it way for a while, and there are no ex F1 or big names driving but for close racing with everybody fighting for even 15th place its perfect moroersport IMO

The Indy teams out weigh the works/factory teams in numbers and seem to do well without their budget

All meetings this year have been really good but today was amazing. How close was the first race?

All my opinion,I’m sure someone will say it’s shit now or that F1 is better 🤔😃

Can’t help but feel it losing its way again. Lack of same driver battles each race. Somehow the weight ballast rules, and the mysterious turbo boost adjustments has contributed to stale races. The track selection doesn’t help, why go to a track like brands Indy where it has limited overtaking possibilities? And finally what the hell has happened to Jason Plato??

Mmmmm, I like the mix up with the ballast & tyre choice, seems to spread out the podium places to more than a few.

Track selection is limited to what the UK has to offer, they use all the UK circuits that can accommodate their package. Knockhill is not great for overtaking but is always provides entertaining races but I am not a fan of the BH Indy circuit. The GP circuit is ace though.

Jason Plato needs to walk away IMO, his whine about the car/engine letting him down a few weeks ago was pathetic.

Is it good again? I got fed up with it when it just turned into bumper cars. Can’t get past just punt someone into the scenery.

Will check it out

Had a few laps round Croft with John Cleland in his yellow Vectra a number of years ago. Quite an experience

Was a huge fan back in the days of Honda Accords, Volvo Estates, Nissan Primeras and Mondeo's.

Went to a few races at Oulton Park too. Being able to have a nose around the pits was brilliant. The support races were great spectacles to watch too.

Last few races I watched featured Jason Plato and were just as thrilling.

Must get back into this. Can someone post a picture of a Volvo V70 estate touring car please

Edit.cheers Matt.made my night that,....😂

In the 90's I wasted too many hours playing British Touring Cars on the playstation.

At the time I had a Renault Laguna ,so I raced that. Occasionally ,when I see the courses I still know them!

If you read what they did to the head of the volvo engine it sounds like an F1 rule interpretation. Loved see that car racing around.

Fond memories of heading to Knockhill every year, grabbing a programme and going autograph hunting. Special bragging rights as my dad was mates with Will Hoy.

The guys who used to service my car are running an Accord in the Super Touring series that's doing the rounds these days. Was brilliant getting a look around one of those cars again after such a long time. Opened the bonnet and you had to take a step closer to see far enough down into the engine bay to find the motor. Cars thay looked fairly normal until you realised that mods they'd made to make them absolutely slammed. So much better than the current regs (mega budget, inevitable explosion, allowing)

*Goes off hunting for Laguna "Airflow" photo*

The only problem with BTCC, is that they're not all touring cars. I thought that there was now a large proportion of hatchbacks and smaller family cars

To be touring cars is all about family sized saloons or (preferably) estates

There's only 10cm in length between and old Mondeo and a new Focus. I reckon the old cars looked bigger because they were much lower

OTOH the current Mondeo is 40cm longer than the old ones!
