Anywhere between Newport and Bromyard really. With work so just a nice simple pub.
thanks
15 mins towards Worcs from Bromyard - The Talbot, Knightwick.
On the Teme, nice beer garden on the river, own brewery, excellent ales, home-grown and local food. Even the salad is grown there.
(^ my old local so biased, but always was impressed by their ale and grub more than all the other locals)
My other fave is the Saracen's Head on the River Wye at Symonds Yat East. Just a few minutes off the A449. Can get very busy in the summer so booking advisable. Again, great food and ales, stunning surroundings.
Either of the above have never disappointed once, and have visited at least 4 or 5 times a year over the last decade or more.
Final one is also just a couple of miles out of Bromyard - 'The Live And Let Live' on Bringsty Common. Lovely thatched place looking over towas the Malverns. Has truly excellent local cask ales on rotation, haven't eaten there for years but when I did it was good.
Absolutely perfect. Just what I'm looking for. Thank you.
Second the talbot at Knightwick! Used to be on our cycle pub tour on a Sunday when I lived in the area, lovely place to relax by the river on a nice day. Sometimes a farmers market on at the weekend with local produce as well, nom.
