Hey there,
I broke the metacarpal bone on my small finger. The doc wasnt fused about strapping in and it's been flippin painful. I tired a gentle ride yesterday (it's been 4.5 weeks) I can't hold the bar properly, should I be worried? Anyone else had the same prob? The break looks like this...[img]

Cheers
What did you punch?
Strap little finger to the one next to it for support (not across the joints), mince about for 4-6 weeks, sorted.
I broke mine (same bone, same hand) as a teenager. I was out of ice hockey for 6 weeks. It was in a plaster cast for all that time, and when the cast came off, it was another week or so before I had proper movement back.
I suspect you're trying to push it too hard, or expecting too much of it at this stage.
Same break, other hand (I'm a leftie). 6 weeks in plaster, couldn't even pick up a glass after that came off. Another few weeks with some physio and back to normal
Bugger, Thanks for the feedback. I'm trying not to be to impatient but dying to get back on the bike. I'd had a bad morning and punched the floor. How much of an idiot am I, only got my self to blame - lesson learnt.
Recovery time will be roughly 6 weeks. Try not to use it at all until it fixed. Otherwise you'll just keep breaking any bits that are starting to fuse together. Once fixed, use a stress ball or similar to get strength and movement back to normal.
Cool, sounds like I'm trying to rush it. At least summer has passed.
