You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
So, I fell of bike, on to backpack. Camera now broke.
Screen all cracked. It's a cheap little Sony. I can buy a replacement screen for £13 (Amazon) and be brave and try and replace it. Or, I could buy a faulty camera of the same type off Ebay, and try the same.
Am I heading for a world of pain and frustration, anyone else done such a repair???
I used to work for quite a large electronics retailer, my job was to sit all day, and make good cameras out of faulty returns.
Screen replacement is usually the easiest parts to change on a compact camera. Don't know what model you have but the guide below gives you a pretty good idea of what your are in for.

So if your confident with a screwdriver id say go for it.
Thing to watch out for ? Flash Capacitor, these little bastards come keen if they get you.
Thank jmason, Yep it's close to that one, a W215, but I found a Youtube video for it too. I'd read somewhere else about the nasty capacitor.
