Just changing provider to try cut bills. The package we have opted for is 100GB a month downloads.
Tried to look at current provider to find usage, but nothing there.
There are two of us in household. Watch TV via the xbox, download a few films every now and then, maybe once a week. Would we come close to this 100GB a month limit? Anyone else in a similar situation?
I’m looking to change too because we live too far from the box to get a good and reliable speed.
Looking at a 4G option with Vodafone, they do unlimited for streaming for £7 extra, but not sure how much to get for standard emails and browsing. Me and my wife both work from home. Was thinking only 15-25GB per month as the streaming will be the bulk of the GBs?
You'll only know when you try it!
I just changed from Virgin stupidfast Fibre to Sky Oldladyinabungalow Broadband and the cheapest was with Sky (as I have Sky TV) but even that is unlimited. I don't think DL limits are acceptable personally. Anyway, the only speed difference I noticed was with torrents, but I don't do that often, so not bothered.
Er, that's not what you asked, but yeah, seeing as my kid went abroad and ate through 5gb in a weekend on his phone, 100GB will be hard to keep under, I reckon.
You could always phone your provider - if they don't show it on the website, they still will be able to tell you your usage.
We get quarterly summaries from Virgin.
Four of us in the house and we average about a terrabyte a month. No, me neither.
We're on a 200Mbit connection but even so.
