Righty, I'm with Bt at the moment. Find their service OK, no problems reasonably quick (when compared to tiscali before) and I thought not a bad price.
I sometimes go over the 10Gb limit, but only occasionally.
Anyhow, fed up with being penalised for not using the landline enough(if you don't use it enough you get charged a fee), so are looking for alternatives.
Couple of things.
Mobile reception in the cottage is crap.
Phone line is a bit rubbish too, but can get 4-5Mb dl on the speed tests.
No where near an optical service.
Would like to spend no more than £25 per month inc line rental.
anything worth considering?
Go to www.samknows.com, plug in your details, it'll tell you what LLU (ie, not BT Wholesale) providers are in the area.
Might be worth giving Virgin a look. Just moving into a house with my mates at uni. For 50mb broadband, unlimited evening /weekend landline calls, plus one of the mid-range virgin packages for tv we're paying £50 a month between us.
I'd imagine if you're looking at a much lower speed broadband package (and probably not wanting all the tv stuff we've got), you might well get something decent from them for <£25
