Hi all,

My plusnet broadband deal is up for renewal.  However, BT have just installed fibre to the house.  Now obviously I could go with BT but for the same money as the fibre to the cabinet with Plusnet, I get no speed benefit in switching, and have to deal with BT....  Plusnet have always been good on customer service (even though they are owned by BT) and I know loads of people effectively getting ripped off by BT for their broadband/landlines.

So, on a search to see if I could go Full Fibre through anyone else (yes it'll use the same infrastructure) I found Cuckoo.

https://www.cuckoo.co/

Soooo.... Any thoughts or experiences?  Young company (c18 months) but for £40 per month you should get the same service as the BT £55/mo package...

Any thoughts out there in the STW Hivemind?

Yeah agree Zen are ace. Was with PlusNet at the start of first lockdown (nearly 2 years ago!) and my speeds were up and down, even ran a cat5 cable up the stairs to ensure it wasn't Wi-Fi. Moved to Zen and it's been rock solid since. Which is odd as it's still the same FTTC infrastructure and same exchange. Don't know it it was a contention issue at PlusNet's end????

I moved from Plusnet to Vodafone.
Saved £10/mo (paying £23/mo) and it's rock-solid on 55 mbp/s.

Thanks all.  I've generally got a solid, reliable connection with plus net, so probably wouldn't change for what is effectively the same product.

Only looking to shift if I can get FTTH through someone other than BT or Virgin (as virgin is up and down like a yoyo based on the street WhatsApp group).

Thanks all, may go with zen.

We went with Sky for ours. FTTH, Openreach did the installation, ran a fibre in place of the wire on the pole. 450 down, 60 upload. It’s been in nearly a month now and no regrets.
