Connection has been fine for the 6 months we have lived in the house. There is a multitude of sockets but only ever needed a filter in 1 of them to get a stable connection.
Last week it started dropping out.
Coincidentally they were doing some excavations with explosives that shook the house.
Line tests say everything is fine.
Should I go and get another 5 filters or push them to do something more?
The prospect of an hour to a call centre is putting me off calling again....
only put a filter where you have something plugged into a phone outlet.
Any noise or crackling on the line?
Test the service again from the master socket. This is the main where the line comes in to the house. Its horizontally divided with two screws in the lower half portion. Undo these and pull the front panel out. Behind in the bottom right you should see what looks like another phone socket, plug the filter and router directly into that and see if that makes a difference. Bear in mind that doing this will disconnect all your other extension sockets until you plug the front panel back in.
What bigyinn said (and I'm surprised your ISP hasn't asked you to do this already).

the water board don't muck about round your way, do they?
+what bigyinn sed.
Seems to have fixed it. Just need another way to set up my wired network.
Trial and error to find the actual master socket though
