You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Did a bit of googling last night, as the sporting season is coming up. Currently using Sky Fibre >38mps, and Sky Original TV which comes to £50 all in a month.
So I started looking at faster Broadband. Vodaphone - the cheapest - customer service looks dire, so TalkTalk at £25 or PlusNet at £30 both no install fee seems good - any comments on these?
Then when I pressed the button to cancel at Sky lo' and behold some deals popped up. Sky Fibre Plus >76mpbs for £30 but the kicker is the TV - they will add ALL sports for £20 a month. So thats TV (not movies), Sports & >76mbps Broadband for £70.
Right now I'd use Now TV - £34 a month, and have Amazon Prime anyway - for sports but I'm wanting to watch F1, any Rugby that is on Sky so perhaps Autumn internationals, the Grand Tours (cycling not cars).
Adding up 7-10 months of Sports and Sky seems cheaper. I know! Sky seems cheaper overall, but I must have missed something in my due diligence surely...
Sounds like you need to go through the 'ringing Sky and cancel everything and see what cheap deals they throw at you' process. And do you need >38mps?
Yep. I work from home, and with Now / Amazon, me on Zwift & two kids the bandwidth would be good.

Isn't that £50? Or have I missed something?
It's tricky to avoid Sky if your main viewing is sport (especially F1 and footie). Not sure if you're currently on a deal but if not you should definitely go through the whole 'cancel and wait for the retentions department to offer to deals' thing (don't accept anything from the person you talk to initially when you phone to cancel).
You should end up with around a 50% discount offer (and possibly a cashback as well if you really hold out and have the time available to deal with the calls). Oh and do not accept anything that locks you into a 12 month contract, they'll do it under a rolling 1-month contract if you insist.
They've also recently started sending out deal extensions to people already on deals so you don't have the hassle each year.
Post is quite confusing and tricky to follow.
I'd add up all current costs to get the services you want eg:
Internet
NowTV
Brazzers
etc
And see if the total Sky wants to charge you that includes all of the above list is cheaper than buying separately
Simple, really.
If you ditch Now TV, you wouldn't be streaming half as much though.

Their current offer is £20 for basic Sky telly plus £20 for all your sports (plus £30 for faster fibre).
That deal will be a contracted one though. Rolling was more expensive when I spoke to them yesterday about a different set-up.
Good grief, the rumours are true. Looonmg conversation only got me to Sky wanting £87 a month with Sports & Fibre Max. I said to the lady on the phone "look even Virgin gives me what I need for £55, we both know I'll go through 30 days of organising new suppliers only for Sky to call me last minute, why not save the hassle and retain my business now?"
Not interested at all. She then rolls out "Oooh look, you are entitled to Sky VIP for free. No cost, no contract just some loyalty bonus offering a free Q box and another mini-Q upstairs. As I leave the phone to try it out... No. Its not free, you need to commit to 18 months at £12 for Multiroom.
Anyway, now considering multiple vendors!
If you do change supplier make sure you use Quidco or Topcashback. At least another £5 a month off.
