I'm a bit out of touch with what is any good, having lived in Canada since 2007.....and not owning a TV. A pretty broad question but what's worth watching? We've just finished Peep Show as I didn't realize another series had been released. Doesn't have to be comedy though. Maybe drama (not Downtown Abbey or whatever it's called though!), hell even nature documentaries could be good!

Depends what you last watched, of recent I've enjoyed Sherlock and Dr Who. Utopia from C4 was very good & dark humour, the Tunnel as a Drama (based on other things) and a cold war spy drama called The Game was good when I watched it on a flight.

Have you seen The Fall with Gillian Anderson? (I'm in Oz and miss some British TV too).

'Misfits'

'Ideal' - it was hidden away on bbc3 but is a rare instance of a uk series that's big enough to do as a propper box set splurge.

For documentary anything made by 'true vision' or 'the garden' production companies

+1 the above.

Line of Duty (BBC2) worth a watch. Season 2 is on iPlayer right now with Season 3 starting late March.

Sky putting out some OK stuff. Fortitude, The Tunnel, Strikeback.

London Spy

I am afraid the poster would appear in a minority based on the thread we had on this series, wouldn't bother.

Fresh Meat
Toast of London

My fave British comedies of recent years.

This Is England is the only drama that springs to mind, there's something about more mainstream Brit drama that grates on me.

Not the general opinion I took from the thread? http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/london-spy

It wasn't perfect by any means.

That thread was positive to begin with, by the end most - not all - thought it was pretty rubbish - read the last page one positve, five negative viewpoints.

According to the internet Life on Mars was 2006-2007, so you may have missed that, then the follow up Ashes to Ashes.

Thanks peeps. I'm surprised how many of these I've seen over the years. Just finished watching the Detectorists on Netflix. Still plenty to check out. Especially Mrs Marple 😉 She finally got married then!

London Spy, first one or two episodes only. By the end it was dire

OP I too watch hardly any "normal" tv and think most of it is rubbish. I watch mainly news and current affairs and bbc is losing out to online channels/content imo. I think you should get a way to stream to the tv set and search iplayer and similar plus other sources. I watch more oitdoor videos (mtb, ski etc) than tv programmes

If you can find Complicity the film, not a patch on the book but still very entertaining

Channel 4's police drama Babylon is excellent and I think is on Netflix.
