Hi

good lady is trying to track down details of her dad who was captured at Dunkirk, she has basic dets but is trying to find out more about the POW part of his life.

Shes tried Ancestry site, shes going to try National Archives anybody got any other tips/resources that might help her get a bit more detail.

Thanks

If she knows his regiment, they often have a historian, and a regimental association. If she knows which camp(s) he was in there may be associations for those too.

The National Archive should have a copy of his military record which will be traceable if you have, as they say in the movies, his name, rank and number. A friend is a WW1 historian and says the records are remarkably complete.

Charges apply on some sites.

If you know the camp he was in try Googling that. I found some information on my dad that way.
