and it is in the chat section along with Rugby, cricket, the Euros and F1

I am guessing the OP is abroad and wants British views on the subject hence he asked on a British website where folk talk about football amongst other issues

They have been here since 2009 and you for a few days , they may just know more about the forum than you

Is there a limit to number of players over 23 that can be selected?

This clown was just asking a simple question and as flatfish noted, I was careful to put it in the Chat Forum, not the Bike Forum so as not to offend anyone's sense of decorum

From the last line of the article you clown...

Each squad must contain 15 players born after 1 January 1989.

When read with this
Beckham made manager Stuart Pearce's shortlist of 35 players but was overlooked for the final 18-man squad as one of three players over the age of 23 allowed to compete in the Olympics.

Does this answer the question Mr busyclown of Clownsville?

You really cannot name 3 british players over age 23 who are better than Beckham....you really are not trying.
If he was left footed he would have made the cut 😉

Junkyards right above ^^^. But I reckon the Beckam talk is a real non-story and the real story is Giggs chance. About time too. IMO its brilliant that Giggs is being given a shot at a tournament, 'cos he is the one that deserves it.
It's a massive shame that he hasn't had the chance already , one thing missing from one of the great british footballers careers. And Beckhams had his chances, and usually wasted them tbh.
And for purely footballing terms, he wipes the floor with him on current form, as do Bellamy and Richards.
I'd rather we actually had a crack at winning it than pick him on sentiment; nobody's expecting to see Chris Boardman in the cycling.

Having endured the performances of the English (supposedly the best GB team) at the eurocomp; no, I can't.
And I hope pearces team gets pasted.

I'm thrilled for Giggs. One of the great personalities of the game.

I'd have included Beckham just for the tourist attraction value, considering his global popularity it'd keep the visitors happy if they get a chance to see him play.

Football's pretty irrelevant at the Olympics so who cares if GB fields it's best team or not.
