Is it a crime, if so what is the crime. And what defines a recognised army and a terrorist force?

Well, aiding the enemy is a recognised crime, as is treason and providing assistance to a proscribed group (such as ISIS/Al Queada). I'm sure that at least one of those would apply.
I suspect that a recognised army would be one that is organised and controlled by the legitimate authorities of a nation state (e.g Ukraine army vs Donetsk separatists/rebels).
