looking to get an extension built either later this, or next year. have a builder in mind, but would like other recommendations - however, the only people i know to have used builders in bristol either can't recommend them, or have recommended them and they're the ones in mind.

Going from the other thread you're on the other side of St George's park. I'm having building work done to my place at the moment by two builder friends who I highly recommend. One of them lives 2 mins away so could quote easily.

Everyone around my way uses Blue Sky Design & Build. Apparently they do a cracking job, but as a result are very popular so you'll need to book them in pronto.
Someone else has also recommended to me a guy called Gavin Dibden 07710 558935.
