...where do you like to go for a pint after a midweek rip round Ashton woods? Or do ya'll just go local when you get home? I'm starting to figure out the trails and having lots of fun ( bluebells are amazing right now) but am missing some comeraderie and not too keen on group rides ( family obligations sometimes make my rides last minute). I know you keep yourselves to yourselves and all but just wondering
I don't think it's the sort of riding that lends itself to a pint afterwards. You can't really leave your bike propped up outside a pub as you can in the sticks. We tend to just go home, or maybe pick some chips up from Whiteladies Rd.
Which side of Bristol are you on?
Presently in Stoke Gifford, near Parkway station hoping to move by year end.
cant help then, I'm on the opposite side.
Always seems to be a few riders outside the Mardyke.
thanks milkie i'll check it out, looks a nice grotty kinda place, i'll fit right in... errr except for the 'merican accent
There's the Mall in Clifton which has outside seating, or the Pump House or Cottage down by the water. Lots of places to choose from!
And there is no such thing as "the sort of riding which doesn't lend itself to a pint afterwards" 😉 😆
Find the Cheesy Riders. I think they still drink in The Portcullis after their Monday evening rides. They did drink in The Mall for a while (got loads of railings to lock bikes to and outdoor seating).
Yep.. pump house or novia scotia for me
Yep, Cheesies still using the Portcullis. One of the best real ale pubs in Bristol.

not the one in fishponds i hope 😯
Ha!
Clifton, the Albion or The Port of Call. Must try The Portculis, not been there for years.
PM if you fancy a ride, similar to you in that family and work commitments mean I have to get a ride when I can. Often after the kids are in bed, so after 1900.
