When some of the crew fall off, do you have to go back to pick em up, or are they to some extent expendable like in a team TT?

Seemingly on there it is expendable time: more likely doing man overboard drill on one of them at speed could be 'interesting'...So they use a support safety boat.

@ian in "normal" sailing races you must pick the crewman up, if you cannot you must retire (withdraw) from the race. For the Americas Cup they made a special rule given the nature of the boats and the fact that support/safety vessels where on hand.

I kinda had a feeling that a support boat would be a safer option, but wasn't sure if common sense prevailed 🙂
