Increasingly it does seem like a rarity, but wanted to flag up an example of absolutely first rate customer service.

I ordered a new turntable, delivered by DPD and which despite my request directly to DPD (and confirmed) was left out in rain for 4 days.

Turntable box and carton pretty much dissolved into a soggy mess and the water ingress was substantial - literally a couple of litres poured out when I tried to lift the box, which of course then disintegrated.  Dried the turntable out over a week and it seemed to work ok.

Emailed Peter Tyson to make them aware of the courier’s f.up, I didn’t solicit any sort of resolution as frankly the turntable worked fine and sounded great.  They got back immediately and offered either a full refund; compensation and keep the unit; or would send out a new unit and collect the old. All couriered and paid for by them (Hopefully not DPD this time…)  I went for the latter.  Quite frankly, in this age of generally shoddy customer service I was very pleasantly surprised. So if you need Hi-Fi / AV, give them a go.

Give us your recent great customer-service stories.

My local store.  The kind of store who has been around since i was a child and generations of the same family swear by.  They have some pretty good sales too.

I suppose there is a reason they have been around for so long despite not selling cheap products.

Hats off for the positive news.

Specialized stumped up for a new wheelset when the back one needed to be replaced under warranty and they didn't have an appropriate one in stock.

Petzl are sending me a warranty replacement head torch. It's about 2 years old and probably used 3-4 times a week in winter. Not abused, but definitely used.

Long story short, I f** up the FD mount on my 3 week old E -Domane in Feb. Took it back to my LBS, Dooley's, where I purchased it, held my hand up to what I'd done, no bull s and asked for a quote for a new frame, expecting this to be in the region 5k. Was told to leave it with them. Two weeks later, new frame, everything transferred over all at no cost!
