You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I have no idea whether this is actually a true story or a sneaky work of elaborate fiction, but over on Twitter there's a chap in France recounting the ongoing conversations he's having with an "ex-pat" family who've just had the sudden realisation that brexit is bidirectional. And it is hilarious.

Keep up, Cougar, this has been the subject of your Brexit thread for the last day and the verdict is it's a fake story.
Yes but still very funny.
It might be fictional but unfortunately based on some all to real "types" out there.
Do we really need another thread....
😉
That is funny as, and plausible
the OP of that twitter thread has closed his account...

Yes, deserves it's own. Would never have bothered to check the other thread - this is hilarious 🙂
The fact that no Eurostars were cancelled today or something has confirmed it as fake. Have to admit I was taken in by it yesterday when I first came across it. Still following as it bloody hilarious even as a work of fiction (and has the bonus of winding up the fumin' porcine crowd screaming FAKE at it).
It's obviously fake.
Why will they have to sell their property?
A friend of mine bought a place in Spain a couple of years ago and very little is changing come Brexit, regarding being able to own property. I guess in medium term there may be some new visa/residents permit requirement.
I don't find it funny, the words I used when I first saw it were "unhelpful" and "odd", the stereotypical portrayal of French institutions I don't find funny at all. It's misleading xenophobic nonsense (from whichever side of the channel you look at it) from someone claiming to be a dual national. It manages to be anti-Brexit and anti-French in that it puts people off visiting or buying a holiday/retirement home when as I've pointed out with links to French government web sites on the other thread are still very much possible and encouraged.
I dont think it is real for one minute but he did say his photo was a "stock image"

Wow, really?

Fair enough, I stopped reading that months ago. (It's not 'my' thread other than on a technicality, I created it in response to everyone asking for it.)
I'll close this off now. Sorry.
