Just received a 30t NW chainring from AliExpress.

Utterly fascinated by the accompanying blurb...

Pic attached, but for the hard of seeing here's the Google lens version of the text:

The characteristics of

1. Extended edition plus or minus tooth shape, overall optimization, chain effect better, more outstanding, easily deal with all kinds of bumpy road

2.By air 7075-T6 aluminum hard alloy, all carved CNC machining a integrated, intensity is mo re secure, appropriate cycling use for a long time

3. After refitted former single plate, variable speed system, greatly reduce the section number to operate a lean???

4. Conversions, single plate, the vehicle to remove dip before the dial before transmission line transmission pipe and three piece of tooth plate, the vehicle can reduce 1 kg weight, make the whole car Looks more simple, beautiful and performance coexistence.

1. This tooth plate of plate hole slotless design, can be used directly tooth plate of the original three dish nail, don't need to spend extra money to buy a single nail plate. Special type of crank, need to confirm the nail plate specifications

2. Please determine your crank BCD specification carefully before buying, be sure to choose the corresponding crank tooth slice to purchase and installation of BCD.

3. The positive and negative tooth needs and the number of the chain width of corresponding, positive corresponding chain tooth width, tooth corresponding negative chain is narrow.

4. Pay attention to the chain length, generally with the chain through the former single disc and the flywheel, under the condition of without the dial, section 4 for more standard.

5. Any brand of positive and negative gear blanks can completely guarantee not to drop chain, SNAIL plus or minus of gear blanks in general is never off the chain phenomenon, row Except for some extreme terrain only vehicle backwards in severe turbulence when tooth set chain to chain can happen off phenomenon, the improper way to ride. Value chain guide Is really the only way to completely eradicate off chain phenomenon.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen text by supposedly English speakers that made less sense than that! Actually, I know I have, there’s one who’s President of the United States…

Not really. More of an anti-trouser snagging outer ring. It came with a set of cranks I bought for middle child.

Interesting - if the ring is a Snail one, as the package notes *MAY* imply, they're pretty decent.  I suppose the ring'll help keep the chain on even better than their suggestion of never

It does appear to be a Snail ring. (Apologies for the crocs)

I think that’s the same cranks I put on the mini a11y’s bikes in 150mm. If so, SRAM direct mount rings interface meaning cheap steel SRAM ring works a dream.

I have a Snail ring on my Bird, I just couldn't resist the name tbh but it's been perfectly good (I fitted it with Cansucc chainring bolts for the same reason)

Very interesting, looking at a short crankset for my daughters bike and kept seeing these cranks in various places. How do you find them?

Unchained, that's a great name for a bike parts company, implies you're a cool rule breaking trendsetter, whilst punning on the bike chain. What could possibly get lost in translation?

Let's just hope they don't start making locks, chains and straps or this could get awkward.

I thought it might have been one of my posts to begin with.

#1 daughter has been running some 155s for a while. They were Cruz branded. Seem nice. Chunky. The supplied BB was utterly dreadful, so even though it's about £3 don't bother.  From memory, one of the pedal holes was slightly tight. The other bang on.

These are Goldix. Seem a bit heavier. Extensive CNC work on the backside. Delivered in a week from china. Not assembled them yet beyond a quick fondle and giggle at the wording on the packet.

If you could report back on how well the installation goes that would be fantastic @Rich_s

They'd probably work better if you fitted them to a bicycle.

My tubeless valves asked for a 'high qality paranipples belt' and promised great sex when inserted firmly...

When inserted under riders' posterior muscles rotating device simply operated within measured parameters. Plus or minus teeth secure grip to transmission device effective. Non titanium, alloy based cranking handles principally function to operator's desired standards, and remained symbiotic with cost relationship to overall expectations of performance/sterling quantity.

Those cranks look pretty nifty to me. I’m not sure I’d replace the RaceFace crankset on my Inbred with them, but on a bike with a light rider they look the mutt’s. 🙃
