I'm not keen on most waterproof gloves due to sweat issues and prefer a highly breathable glove but this is obviously an issue when the heavens open . I carry some disposable nitrile gloves and force them over if the rain gets heavy but am looking for a better solution . Does anyone know of a light ,highly breathable waterproof cover or overglove ? I do have some long army goretex mitts but they have to be put on from inside the jacket otherwise the rain runs down the sleeve and pools inside. Putting them on from inside means 1/ I have to remove the jacket
2/ I can't zip it up easily afterwards.
Ideally I'd like a kind of pull over cover for just the back of the hand but a quick Google hasn't come up with anything.
Any ideas?
There are some gloves with a cover stored on the back of the hand. Can’t remember who though, maybe ION?
I’ve got some montane minimus overgloves somewhere that I take bikepacking.
Breathable is something I've never looked for in a glove tbh!
Pogies are awesome, but you look a right tool.
Any glove/mitt that fits outside the sleeve of the jacket will get wet inside as rain creeps down your sleeve. I have some now ancient) Gore-tex over-mitts that suffer from this. Perfect in snow though....
Pogies aren't a solution as the same thing happens. What they are good at is keeping your hands warm, even when wet.

Have a pair of these, but TBH rarely use them, and rain tends to work its way down the arms anyway, otherwise they're decent and well made. Also I like the idea that the waterproof layer is outside, most waterproof gloves seem to have awaterproof lining, which seems to defeat the object as gloves get wet.
Didn't check that price mind! Can't remember what I paid but wasn't £60!!
Decathlon had some overmits like those Montane ones, I think they were about £10 but I cannot find them on the website
Working outside in cold, pissing rain and using handheld devices means that most gloves get saturated and heavy and cold themselves, I’ve been using heavy-duty nitrile gloves underneath fingerless mitts, but my fingers still get cold, so I’ve been trying to find something like a waxed-cotton shooters mitt to go over a wool or fleece fingerless glove, but I’ve been drawing a blank myself.
It’s something that seems pretty obvious for people working outdoors in shitty weather, a waterproof overmitt that can be flipped back with a wool or fleece fingerless glove underneath for warmth and dexterity, but nobody seems to make such a thing.
There are waterproof gloves with supposed touchscreen capable fingertips, but they’re so cumbersome on a small phone screen as to be almost useless.
Glad it's not just me that is having trouble finding something suitable. I don't need Pogies..already used them and it's too warm now until next winter.
Maybe I'll modify the army gore ovetmitts ..they only cost me a £1 anyhow at the car boot. If I slice an opening in the palm area I should be able to push them back out of the way when not needed and back on when it pours again , having slipped them on under the jacket before the ride.
I also work outside - been a wet couple of months to say the least. Personally I find it better to accept wet hands - either go for a glove that stays relatively warm once wet or as I do when possible take your gloves of and keep the dry- Put them back on once rain stops- Also have a few pairs to change into- Waterproof gloved generally disappoint ..
Those Haze ones look decent!
I’ve been doing a lot of searching the interwebz over the last three hours, and there are a lot of water-resistant gloves using neoprene with folding fingertips for fishing, but I did find an actual waterproof glove with folding fingertips for delicate work, which look perfect, but not cheap - Sealskinz do them, and they do a folding mitt/fingerless glove which is windproof and water-resistant.
I think I might invest in the Sealskinz, the amount of wear they’ll get means I can just about justify the £55 they cost, most of the fishing ones are a bit loose and bulky
