Huge shock, seen Faithless many times, always a cracking gig.
That sucks, seen them a few times and they were always ace
Can’t believe he was 65 though. That makes me feel really old..
Huge shock, and I agree, he was older than I expected.
Rip
I saw Faithless in 97 and Reverence was massive for me. Such a change of tune (literally) for an indie kid but opened my eyes.
Any album that has rock, rap, opera and rave in it has got to be good and it was.
Sad news indeed.
That sucks. What a week!
Met him briefly, seemed a nice bloke.
👎🏻 😥
Shit shit shit, such a part of my late 20's
Such a wordsmith
Really sad news. Seen them a few times live, they were brilliant. His voice is so iconic.
2022 can get to **** now, I've had enough. RIP Maxwell Fraser 😢
Oh!
Mate just messaged me to say he’s died, very sad as he was one of the good ones. We reminisced about travelling down to Homelands @ Winchester in a coach we organised filled with 50 desperate ravers trying so hard (and failing miserably) to keep from doing any drugs till we entered the site, saw faithless in the largest tent just as the sun was setting and it was an awesome experience, especially when insomnia kicked in and I raised my head to the roof and felt rain falling so I opened my mouth and drank it……… it was condensed sweat and body heat dripping from the roof of the tent.
😢
RIP.
Surprised at his age, another great gone.
A real loss.
Ah that's sad. Good memories from nights in the naughties in Brighton and yes Somafunk...Homelands!
Oh man I'm gutted about this. 😥
Reverence. What an opening track to an incredible album. RIP. I hope it's quiet.
Ah bollocks. RIP
Shit news - big Faithless fan.
What a shit week 😢
That's a bad one 🙁 Older than I thought, but still. One of the groups/bands that got me out of my rock/punk/metal comfort zone so it wasn't just about Faithless, it was about all the other music they helped introduce me to. RIP good feller
I have this memory of being on a work trip with this guy from work. The Volvo we had had a really good sound system in it and we played Faithless really loud to test it out. The colleague died of bowel cancer some years later. Now Maxi Jazz has gone. Just me and the Volvo left ☹️
RIP Maxi, sad news indeed, Faithless a massive part of my musical influences in my teens and my 20's. 😔
2022 can get to **** now, I’ve had enough.
I think I'm gonna go to bed in a minute and I'm not gonna get out til the morning of January 1st! This year has taken far more than its pound of flesh as far as I'm concerned.
Sad to hear of his passing - love Faithless and had the fortune to see them live. RIP Maxi!
Goddamit no! That absolutely sucks. Such a distinctive voice and a huge influence (ok, with Faithless) on me in the 90's and 00's.

Got into Faithless via Insomnia and then discovered Mass Destruction and thought "Wow!"
Sad news. I'll never forget seeing Faithless live at Creamfields in 2002 along with Underworld and the rest of an insane lineup. I'll also never forget stifling a guilty laugh weeks later when I heard from my dad that my grandad (who lived near Speke) had told him how surprisingly chatty, cheerful and friendly all my mates were at 9am when we went round before heading back.......
Saw them at V festival in 99 and they were superb. Seemed such a good guy - RIP
98-01 were my clubbing days, out every weekend, you'd never here a DJ play out Insomnia in a set, not the people I saw anyway who were mostly playing superclub/trancy kind mixes which were on the fringes of Faithless type stuff, but that last end of night track at Passion in those days was always Insomnia, week in week out, proper bought the club together for that final 10 minutes, such a massive track for all the regulars.
The track came on my Spotify halfway through a quick run last night, thought about those times all the way through it.
He always seemed like a really nice guy, RIP
A great loss. Great thanks from me, Mr Ali. RIP.
As he was a lifelong Crystal Palace fan, and involved in the management of the club as an associate director cpfc will run out to a Faithless track today.
Then there is a 65th minute clap scheduled during the match by the supporters.
Great musician, some incredible tracks
Shame it was such a crumby performance from Palace today really 🙁
