Come on STW, inspire me with some breakfast ideas. My breakfast is stuck on either granola, fruit & yoghurt or soda bread, avocado and eggs. I need a change and thought you lot may be able to help. No bacon though, I'm vegetarian.

fūl!

Dice onion, chilli and tomatoes and fry til the onions are soft and the toms have broken down - add a tin of fava beans (you'll find them in any middle eastern/African shop) and cook them till they're all mushed up then sprinkle some Berbere, which is an Ethiopian spice mix. You can get it from Sainsburys and Waitrose now I think, never had to buy it, we stock up on it when we go down to London and the mother in law sorts us out with her own mix 😉

Serve with a couple of slices of lemon to squeeze on top and your best olive oil and some crusty bread that you use as cutlery.

*parp*

You'll find a million recipes for it online but they'll all be different as it's served everywhere from east Africa to Lebanon.

Edit: It works brilliantly as a post fasted ride brunch and will see you through to your evening meal

Empty a tin of chopped tomatoes into a pan with a bit of oil in it and reduce it down to a sticky caramelised blob. On toast with a fried egg and baked beans.

Porridge? With fruit and/or something sweet as you please. It's nothing revolutionary but does the job for me.

Some people spend a lot of time on their breakfasts! Must be the WFH crew.

Add milk, 2 mins in the microwave 🙂

Has everyone run out of Quality Street and Roses already?

Surely those are the breakfast of choice this time of year?

Omelette if you have time.

Oats or salmon?

Had cereal as I’m ill.

Who has the time to spend preparing all those fancy meals?
Cereal, toast or porridge is all we get here. Its not a banquet just a means of starting the day.
