What the hell do the panic buyers do with it all!? A sign outside my local Asda limits customers to 6 loaves per person.
Seriously, WTF?! Are people insulating rooms with it or something?
Apparently, bread is highly sought after in times of hardship. Men seek it out for companionship to keep the cold out. A loaf of bread, or a 'Baker's Bride' as it is sometimes referred to, can help a man get through a tough winter, like the Snowmageddon we are currently suffering through.
*gets a bagel from the cupboard*
It's the same any time there's a crisis. If you've been following the reports from Syria you'll know that the biggest concern for freezing, starving people is to get bread for themselves and their kids. It's the simplest and cheapest carbohydrate for energy.
Maybe because Allied Bakeries have two plants one in Glasgow and Stevenage
They also supply the dough for nearly if not all in house bakeries in the super markets too.

Sod the bread I'm off to panic buy a land rover defender as there's at least an inch at the top of my road.
Cake's betterer.
You can always eat that.
i've had a frozen packet of wholemeal pitta in the freezer for over a year now, if all hell breaks loose and we get snowed in today.... well it'll be a 16mile walk home to get to that pitta.
Panic buy bread? I think not...Gram flour to be I-compliant.. 😉
