Anyone else watching with interest?
It's very tight race with Lula ahead by less than 1 percentage point.
If bolsonaro loses, will he do a trump - who(m) he admires - and claim the result to be illegimate and, therefore, invalid?
His departure will lead to a slowing of Amazonian deforestation.
There will also be more focus on addressing social and economic inequality.
Brazil is the world's 4th largest democracy so what happens there matters - IMO.

They are both very interesting characters, both with experience outside of politics but the country really needs a fresh president these two are both trouble.
Nearly all my friends have voted for Lula except my parents in law.
One thing that really stands out is their electronic voting system, if you can do it in a country that size we really have no excuses.

Confirmed.
Congress is full of bolsanaro supporters so Lula will have his work cut out.

EDIT; tails - good point about the electronic voting/counting system. Will never be accepted in US - voting machines, corruption, vote mules etc. Just listening to radio report about bolsanaro's criticisms over months about voting machines; trump all over again, I fear.

It's not a question of whether we can or can't do it, rather whether we should from a transparency and confidence point of view. Tom Scott did a good video on it a couple of years ago.

Could be turbulent times ahead. My brother, his wife and child left Brazil for Lisbon a couple of years ago as it was getting too toxic under Bolsanaro.

I could definitely see Bolsonaro doing a Trump
But you can bet he'd be far more competent at staging a coup than the orange shitgibbon

Still silence from Bolsonaro. I really hope he doesn't try it on, the world has seen enough crap recently

Intersting factoid:

The defeat makes Bolsonaro the first serving president in Brazilian history to be voted out of office.
