Jamie - Freeloader! But we still like him

Agree ... any game that goes to penalty is shite.

Well, that is patently bullshit.

Any game that goes beyond full time i.e. wasting time, deserves to be labelled shite as bunch of time waster. I can't waste my life watching extra time when Family Guy is on ...

They are bullshit because they are shite that cannot even score during full time no exception.

I fell asleep at about 65 mins and woke up at 11.30pm having blissfully missed it all.

I do believe I won the prize for the best prediction though....eventually!

Holland bringing on a sub keeper to help win a shoot out may have seemed like a master stroke at the time, however if you cannot do that the next time you have a shoot out, it gives a psychological advantage to the opposition. The Dutch keeper did not look like saving one, and Holland did not look like winning it.

What @athgray said. The winning penalty was an easier save than either of the ones the Argie keeper stopped.

I wanted to see Brazil v Holland but neither performed. I was more disappointed in the Dutch performance than Brazil. Holland reverted to the withdrawn mentality which lost the last final. Not convinced Van Gal deserves the tactical genius label either, seems to me its the British press just talking up a manager as he's coming to the PL.

Sympathy For The Devil.

I see that Mick Jagger is being blamed by superstitious Brazilians for their soccer team's defeat. Well, they're a very religious lot. It's safe to assume that there was a lot of supplications to the alleged Nazarene for success in the world cup. Given the result, does this mean that Sir Mick is more powerful than Jeeezus?

*chuckles*

...oh, and Silva should have been given a red. Nice to see the refs still trying to help Brazil out.

Silva should have been given a red.

But it shouldn't have been a penalty so not entirely on their side.

1st gol wasn't a penalty. Free kick at best; Robben is a diving ****. No way would Silva's touch ahve brought him down so dramatically.

Should have been a free kick and a red. I think the ref bottled it, and just gave a pen and a yellow, thinking the pen would placate the Dutch.

Again Robben jumps onot the floor as tohugh he's been shot! For the pen, he was already screaming out and looking for the ref, before he'd even decided to fling himself down! What a cheat.

Is this a friendly match? 😮

What's the point of this match anyway?

Anything thing less than 5 goals is a waste of time.

If you love footbal, I urge you to watch 'Next Goal Wins', about the American Samoan football team. Really good little film.

60000 tickets at $100 a time (those numbers are completely made up, but you get the idea). Fifa are skint, they need the cash.

Ya, that's a bit too late now ... 😆

If I were the Dutch player I would be very careful not to get injured to make sure I get higher pay when the season starts again.

As for the Brazilian players these are the players big clubs need to avoid especially that Brazilian "Leo Sayer" bloke.

What! $100 per ticket! 😯

Crikey! If that's the price I will restart the entire tournament again ... 😆

It's is a shame when someone of his quality resorts to constant whinging and cheating. There really is no need.

Still a red though IMO

I did too. But the whining to get the (deserved) red was still unnecessary.

Needs an "enforcer" to given him a little "quietener"!!!

Holland seem to have mastered the art of turning attack into defence.

Also, that's the worst refereeing decision of the tournament.

That's really bad. Books Oscar for 'simulation', then it' clear there must have atually been contact, as Blind is on the floor in pain! Embarrassing.

Looked to me like he straightened his legs and started going down before the contact. Didn't see a good angle so could be wrong. There was inevitably going to be contact so could have got a pen but the way he went down was simulation.

There is a possibility but then they are a one man team with Messi so if the Germans can prevent him from getting the ball then 50% of their work is done, because the rest of the Argentinians are just good players but nothing spectacular. 😀

I do hope everyone is following Mr Hansen's example and is presently sporting a tie? You're not, are you? You're sat in your pants and a wife beater, with a can of wife beater, scratching your arse and farting, aren't you?

As a united fan, I've felt obliged to follow Rio's example with a double breasted suit . Creme De Menthe anyone?

Beeb. Might go with the 5Live commentary.

Oh and farewell Alan Hansen. I know plenty of people don't like him, but I've always thought he's been one of the Beeb's best pundits.

I'm not a massive fan, and he does seem to have become a pastiche of himself in the last year or so.

...but given what is taking over, Shearer/Neville/Savage, then it may be a case of not knowing what you have got till it's gone.
