Give Cesar a second yellow for time wasting. Make it really fun!

Load of shite.

Fernandinho should have had at least 17 yellows.
César should have had a straight red.
Blah blah blah.
Lovely free kick.

Well, they're up against this year's champions next anyway, hopefully without Neymar*, so they'll get a well organised Teutonic spanking.

*i hate myself for saying that! as he was probably the cleanest player on the pitch this evening.

Arse.

If Germany can deal with the Brazilian propensity to cheat and piss and moan, they should beat them.

Great free kick though...

hhhmmmm ... so many missed chances for Colombiana. 😐

Yes, Germany to beat Brazil then to meet Holland in the final where Holland will beat them to win the tournament for the first time.

We want German to beat Brazil.

I have no problem with that. Germany are my second team. Brazil being managed by one of the biggest ****s in international football helps one to want to see them lose. Plus, I was hoping for some civilian unrest during the World Cup and as long as Brazil are in the tournament, the proletariat is too happy to riot.

I still have money on Holland and Costa Rica, the odds mean it's either Chinese carbon or Zipps.

Personally I don't think Neymar had been particularly good in this WC. Neither do I think he lives up to the hype at club level. Brazil can re-organise themselves no problem. It's whether their players believe they still have a chance that counts more IMO.

Games like that make you wonder about spot betting and money exchanging hands. No yellow cards in the first half? FFS

Brasil are gubbed, Neymar or not. He's nowhere near the same class as Messi, Ronaldo, or even Zlatan or Rodriguez anyway. Big Phil's comments about the Colombians 'hunting' Neymar were embarrassing, should look at his own sides' tackling.

As for Fred, be better with Dibnah!

Apparently FIFA had put pressure on the refs to not flash cards about. Reason being to let the game flow, and reduce the chance of big names being suspended.

They obviously forgot this would also have the affect, in certain games, of the game getting out of control of the ref if the players saw no punishment coming for their actions.

Neymar out with a fractured vertebrae

Ya, not a surprise as the injury is a bit like being kneed in the back by some kick boxer, especially when the other player was charging up to him at that speed ...

Ya, let's hope Brazil and Argentina are oot ... I like Costa Rica but then I want Holland to win ... arrgghhh ... 😮

It was nice being able to watch the match with the commentary on though - I've been having to cope with radio coverage that's a minute out of sync for the Townsend games. Clarke Carlisle gets my vote, though I started wanting to set fire to his co-commentator around the time of his "Zabaletta likes Status Quo..." filler.

looking for fouls is such a blight on modern international football. it totally spoils the flow of the game for me. it's not like this in the premiership is it? it's just so negative.

To be fair, NED should have won in normal and extra time anyway, so no one can complain. Kurd...who knew he was such a gamesmanship-like prick? Ref should have given him a yellow card.

Yeah I thought krill was a little out of order, would've pissed myself if the one of the costa Rica players gave him a push that lead to them both being sent off...

Kurd? Krill? What are you on about?

It was unsavoury, but kicking a ball into a goal from 12 yards is a foregone conclusion. Until you add the impact of pressure, and the mind games. He was seeking an advantage, which he pushed about as far as he could. I wondered if the LvG substitution was at least part mind games too, making the CR players think 'shit, a penalty saving specialist' or even just the fact he's 2" taller and fills the goal more.

Krul way to go out though. Thanks CR for brightening the tournament.

I really want a Germany V Netherlands final to hold up the European flag.

But at the same time, Brazil v Argentina in Brazil....

Be gutted if it is one South American v One European.

Ozil. The new Fellaini?

With Neymar out I can't see where the goals are going to come from. Deutschland to nick it, I reckon.

I'm going for Holland tomorrow, as thevey've looked better than Argentina. Who've been riding their luck to get this far. They've been poor, then come up with some piece of individual brilliance. Which they might do again tomorrow

So, basically... I haven't a clue

Both semis look very evenly poised.

Tonight: Brazil. The hosts deserve to be there.

Wednesday: Netherlands and I'd like to see them win the final.

@binners Churchill could have been speaking about Ozil when he made that famous quote

"is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma"

With Neymar out I can't see where the goals are going to come from. Deutschland to nick it, I reckon.

Hopefully someone can chip the keeper from the half way line.
