The brazilians seem as good as the All Blacks at the not-so-subtle dark stuff

Alexis Sanchez clearly means business - he's rolled up the other leg of his shorts too.

~edit~ my mistake, we're still only at 1 leg.

Penalties are a crap way to end such a great game. Surely it'd be better to take it down to 5 a side for another 10mins... Jumpers for goalposts, until mum calls them in for tea...

Football a game played with a ball. Penalty shoot outs won by players with balls.

Anyway. Would like Chile to go through, but it's good for the tournament if Brazil go through.

I'm predicting a tight 3-2 after 6 pens each with both keepers making good saves. Brazil to win...

The game wants to finish soon, tho, as Sanchez shorts aren't long for this world at the rate they are disappearing.

No pressure on that game to be entertaining then....

On the plus side, if this means we get the grudge match between Brazil v Argentina, then it's a silver lining.

Is it just me or did that final penalty swerve so much it still landed over the goal line off the post?
Just how close can a miss be?

Columbia to trounce Uraguay here. Though I did actually see Forlan score. Twice. In one game. Bastard hadn't managed it all season, then got two, right at the death, to lose me my bet on the final score in the villa game! The ****!

Actually... He'll probably do it tonight. Just to piss me off!

Everyone ready for the pearls of wisdom from Andy Townsend then?

Binners, saw Forlan play a champions league match at ibrox a few years back, and he was absolutely outstanding, one of the most complete performances I've seen. Ran the channels, dropped back and supported both wingers and midfield and ran our defence ragged (not too hard tbh!).

I think the move to Man U just came too early for him.

The year he left OT he was highest scorer in La Liga. I used to really like him. His work rate was phenomenal! He set loads of goals up (which he never got any credit for), but he always looked, in front of goal, like Torres does now. No confidence at all. Like he was scared to shoot. I think you 're right . It was probably too much pressure, too soon, and it got to him. A great, underrated, player
