Portugal are going to score if the USA just sit this deep.

A draw will still see the tanks thru though

Called it.

Dramaz!

Bradley really shouldn't have lost the ball in the midfield.

Stooooppiiddd ... merica ... throw the game away. Make no mistake.

They do not deserve to win this way without being able to defend last two minutes. 😯

The team that will win the World Cup is the team with enough physical fitness because the merica and most of the European teams are struggling. World class players ... my arse.

Yup. All the USA need to do is draw.

Against Germany.

Easy.

Think it's Germany and Ghana to go through.

Well with defending like that drawing against Germany does seem a wee bit unlikely 😉

Alan Hansen is being a bit more of a nob than usual.

Anyway. This is one group that is going to go to the wire. Which is good, as a lot of the games next week are dead rubbers.

...and the bottom line is: USA > England.

I think the second round team would prefer to play merica than Ghana put it this way. Ghana is a better team but rather temperamental whereas merica run out of steam pretty quickly. No aggressive attacking front in the merica ... Ghana will go from strength to strength if they progress to the second round. 😮

Jamie - Freeloader! But we still like him
...and the bottom line is: USA > England.

For sure! Make no mistake! 😆

Right I now have 2 valid reasons for wanting america papped out. One is the irrating USA chant. And secondly, the use of the word merica. Mon Ghana!

Ok - First of the final round of group games - this world cup is moving pretty quick, the games will start thinning out a bit from here 🙁

Cameroon 0 - Brazil 2
Croatia 1 - Mexico 1

Australia 1 - Spain 0
Netherlands 0 - Chile 0

Upset about USA, they were my second team.. what a way to lose.

I was wondering if Germany would prefer to let USA draw to get Portugal out...?

There is no worse way to lose, in soccerball, than drawing 😉

Cameroon 0 - Brazil 3
Croatia 2 - Mexico 1

Australia 0 - Spain 1 [ or a thumping so 5]
Netherlands 35 - Chile 0

Taken literally that's true, along with winning. The best way to lose is to score fewer goals than the opposition.

I have to say, Hansen was even more of a plum than normal last night. The good thing about the WC coverage has been the MOTD muppets being shown up by the "proper" (i.e. more current/more experienced) players. Thierry Henry pretty much rolls his eyes whenever Shearer voices an opinion.

France v Brazil final!

Its the only way and this did not happen , this did not happen so they did not lose.

On a side note, the Google WC Doodles have been very good.

Also, this week is going to be a bloody logistical nightmare picking what game to watch.

When Porto played Manchester city a couple of years back, Porto complained about the city chants of "Hulk you're not incredible"

Innit!

I thought I had ITV4HD on my basic Virgin package, but apparently not. The game looks like shit.

God forbid I ever see a 4k display.

Oh, and Goooooooooooal.

The picture was so poor, and I have been drinking, that I rang Virgin. Apparently, ITV HD channels are only 'free' on the XL TV package.

Seems odd, and it seems the classy thing to do would have ITV4 HD free to air while the WC is on, but **** 'em. Even though, it seems all the games I want to watch are on ITV4.

*shakes fist*

Yeah have a standard def tv in the kitchen and the picture was appaling on ITV, so go in t'other room to watch in HD....so much better! Thought Cameroon had a chance last night, but forgot they don't actually have a defence!

Anyway to sadly sum up the OP already! :

ts time to start the discussions on Brazil '14. So many questions:

Does anyone think England will progress out of the groups? No

Will the home team cruise to victory? Almost certainly not

Will Shrek manage his first goal in a tournament since 1927? Yes!

Will Woy pick youth over experience? Yes....ish!

Will Suarez recover from surgery to face England? 🙁

So many questions, but who has the answers?? Me!

True, but it's England, and how good is the match going to be..?

How soon do the matches appear on iPlayer/ITV on demand?

Ride after. I've only watched 15 mins live of any England game (last bit of Uruguay) and I don't think I've missed much. That being said this match could be a good one, England being adventurous vs top team in the group looking for the win, could be a lot of goals, eg 3-2 etc.

For the first time in a long time (I believe) the bookies will be cheering England. Apparently the bulk of the money is on CR tonight. Unpatriotic or merely realistic and world-weary?!?

Ride - you can watch TV any time.

Pretty amazing that we could see Italy, Spain and England all out at the group stage. On that basis I have to go for Uruguay and agree that it's the match of the day.
