IMHO you had a bit of bad luck - rooney could have had a hat trick and both of Suarez's goals were against the run of play.
That defence is pish though...ever last one of them is not good enough.

Yet, looking back, the United forward actually believes it did him a favour because his own stamp on Ricardo Carvalho got overlooked, unlike the misdemeanours of David Beckham and Phil Neville that had been highlighted at previous tournaments.
"I didn't really get any stick," said Rooney. "Ronaldo took a lot of it and I was pleased about that.

Harsh red that IMHO as was Beckhams

For the record i rejoice each time you lose so I am not a fayn

Aye dull game. Belgium look dodgy at the back. Some of the better attacking teams in this WC will tear them apart IMO. Don't think they are as great as the hype suggests.

England are shite. Always have been shite, and always will be shite! For all manner of reasons, From the structure of the English game, to always defaulting to hoofing woeful long balls up to no one in particular, to the half-arsed attitude of the players. I said right from the off that they didn't have a hope of getting out of the group, on account of being utter and complete ...

If anything, I'd say there's only potential for them to get even worse

Does Clarence Seedorf's voice give anyone else a fizzy mini? The one-two with Henry is quite something. Then Shearer butts in and spoils the mood.

JY - teams get the support they deserve. Hence the hardcore England support mainly consisting of easily satisfied, yet strangely unfulfilled half-wits with flags carrying the names of such titans of European football as Grimsby Town or Swindon.

You've got to love Chris Waddle. Presently on 5 Live, dismissing the platitudes about England, and telling it as it is. They're crap! And getting worse all the time!

For gods sake make him head of the FA!!

Is this the fayns they deserve then?

When I heard him he started off saying they should be world beaters then said why every player/position they were lacking and crap

It is not so much analysis as incoherent emotional pish........I can see why you like it 😉
This sort of reaction really does not help the team....played some good teams got a bit unlucky and lost....imagine they reaction here if they had done a Spain 😯

Ssshhh, Binners there are sensitive souls around. But look on the bright side, at least England were not managed by Cappello. Highest paid manager at WC 2014. Worth every penny......?????

Was listening to that match while driving down the M40 with crap reception. Was it as bad to watch as it sounded?

Incoherent emotional pish? England unlucky? I think you're as deluded as Woy.

England are crap! They somehow managed to, somewhat unbelievably, be even worse than they were in South Africa. Who'd have thought it possible. Well... Me

I said on the start of this thread that I'd have a punt on them going home without scoring. Not quite maybe. But I reckon they'll go home bottom of the group, without picking up a single point, after being battered by Costa Rica.

And that, by anyone's standards, is about as shite as it's possible to be. And Chris waddles rant/analysis as to why seems pretty much on the money to me

It's started like a kids game down the park, so I would say yes.

Remember, it's always the games that look a bit poor, that turn out to be awesome.

Edit: Can confirm first 10 minutes has been better than most of waffles vs vodka.

Really? They've played italy and uraguay and suffered two narrow defeats as opposed to the USA and Algeria and succumbed to two meek draws. I'd say there performances have been leagues better.

THM - it was bloody awful! Like watching England under postman pat, against Germany! Apparently he's on 6.5 million of dodgy corrupt oil and gas money a year 😯

And JY - what are you getting all hot under the collar about. You're a united fan! You're meant to be dismissive and scathing about engerland! 😉

I cannot be arsed Binners , yes your shit, they should all be shot and they are mentally weak.

Dont let the fact that both teams are currently ranked above England and cloud your view, chris waddles or THM's view ....pfffft facts eh
As he said narrow defeats from teams better than you in the group of death, uruguay were lucky to win IMHO but your defence is gash.

EDIT: and not english either so my real disappointment is they did not flatter to deceive as usual 😉

I think you need to be realistic a bit of luck and uruguay were beaten. I di dnot see the Italy game so cannot comment.

Howard Wilkinson was on sports week this morning spouting that idiotic FA line how the it was great experience for the non playing youngsters ! Have to say Stuart Pierce talks much more sense with regards to that and getting experience with the u21/u19/u17 which is also the point Chrissy Waddle makes about learning to win in tournament football.

Stats and rankings don't mean shit! Results are all that count! As Costa Rica are gleefully demonstrating! Amongst others! It's whether you repeatedly put in insipid, naive, tactically clueless, let's-hoof-another-long -ball-up-front-yet-again performances, to finish with zero points at the bottom of your group. Where were we 'ranked' again?

Let's not forget, Algeria were beating the waffles till the end of the game. Really deserve to go through.

South Koreans need to take some shots on, rather than trying to be too intricate.

Algeria has an impressive engine.

Wonder if they can maintain this intensity in the second half. Being 3-0 up, they will probably drop down a few gears.

Not sure how they'd get away with this kamikaze attack against a better team, but it's bloody brilliant to watch. Especially after that last match!

An impressive engine and they look like they really want it!!!

Different sport but intrigued by Sir Ian McGeechan on the "other England"

Mentally, emotionally and psychologically they were off the pace and you simply cannot afford to be like that against New Zealand.

How very dare he!

Good to watch Algeria tonight. Loved the header for the second. Like a rocket.

I'm not convinced the defending in this game is of the highest quality, but then again, who cares? I reckon it'll go 4-3 and then finish 5-3.

I'm loving this WC. Astonishingly good, and obvious disappointment aside its great to see the unfancied nations handing it out to the big boys even if they don't get the end results.

Just one complaint. I grew up in an era where the groundsman's idea of weatherproofing a goal area was covering it in a mix of gravel and sharp sand. This lot play on carpets, so why do they need their socks over their knees like some sort of Japanese schoolgirl?

Outstanding game! Next ones going to be a massive anti-climax isn't it?

I'm only saying that as I've got a really early start, and a long drive in the morning, and I really shouldn't stay up til one watching another game. I reckon I know what's going to happen though. 😀

Starcham has just used a 'Total Football' phrase about Algeria 😯
