I missed the incident that led to the defender going off with a slightly wrecked looking left side of his face. What happened?
High boot from Giroud(?), accidental but he really copped it.

Happily I was in the Netherlands for their game on Wednesday evening. What an experience!

We were in a decent sized town in the South (Tilburg) on business, but after arriving at the hotel and seeing the orange throng in the street of bars opposite we threw our bags at the rooms and got involved ASAP. Absolutely top atmosphere and we got totally smashed with the locals having a great time. No aggro, no edge, just a top piss-up.

Shame we had to go to a meeting the next day absolutely hanging, but there you go.

France playing some very nice football. They won't win the competition outright, but at least they're entertaining.

One thing you can say about this world cup is the stands look amazing, I'd love to be there atmosphere has sounded electric every game. Even the Iran game was bouncing. In general, best world cup ever if it can keep up this intensity.

France looking good here, may change my prediction since Italy looked gumf last game, although something left field like Chile may be considered too!

It is great to get an international perspective to the half time analysis, but they really should have made sure some of them had a better grasp of the English language. Just where the hell does this Chiles blokes accent come from

Moving on...

Forster

Flanagan
Stones
Jones
Shaw

Henderson
Wilshere

Sterling
Barkley
OX

Sturridge

Let them have a crack at the Euros.
Bit of tournament experience and they'll be fine for Russia '18.

I can't think of another tournament I've seen that's been this good...

How many teams have been conceding goals just after scoring?!

EDIT - Where have the dirty Honduran tackles been tonight?

There hasn't been, I reckon if it keeps up we should just let Brazil keep the rights to host future world cups!

Yes - I suspect all the companies that paid the English & Spanish players to promote their products are feeling pretty stupid just now..

Argentina vs Iran not as one sided as I'd expected thus far... Argentina looking susceptible on the break.

Dear Mr. Hodgson, my dog has found the cutting edge that you seem to have lost, if you would like to collect it then you can find it on the Dutch/Belgian border. Oh, and 150Euro for the vet bill would be nice.

Though in fairness, the argentinians should be about 3 up from the first half.

The iranians are pretty feisty. I thought the ref was going to get a slap for missing that corner.

Cummon I-ran axis of evil!

They never let Argentina dictates the game which is good and full of energy. I guess I-ran needs to win or the players will have to face crane style mass hanging.

This has developed into a very lively match in terms of attacking footie.

I-ran must win!

I watched Iran's 0-0 game against Nigeria, and it was ****ing awful.

This 0-0, so far, has been one of the games of the tournament.

Funny old world.

Edit: Taking off Dejagah? Hmmmmm. If anyone can score Iran a goal, Ashkan, kan.

Edit 2: **** me. Argentina really don't deserve to get anything from this game.
