After the breakfast thread yesterday that illustrated the wonderfully different people, and their eclectic personalities and tastes that inhabit this forum I thought we could delve deeper! What are you having, or going to have, for your first meal of the day? I didn’t wake up until 10.45, I’m two large mugs of tea in and considering possibilities, no hangover as this is my first Christmas of drinking very little (one small whisky last night). Bacon and eggs might be the treat although there’s some fantastic cheesecake in the fridge that our daughter made - she’s on duty again today so it might be nice to have that and reflect…

What are you having/had/planning?

Bubble & Squeak, ham and eggs. Bacon may replace ham. Nothing may replace B&S

After a lie-in until 9am (thank god for Xmas day completely exhausting our 18 month old), we got up and up and had coffee, scrambled egg  (made with double cream) with smoked salmon. And then I ate the rest of a large Lindt reindeer.

My very late breakfast was reheated Christmas dinner. I was hoping there’d be masses of food leftover but my teenage boys eat so much these days. Pudding will be a thick slice of bûche de Noël with cream.

I'm still full up from yesterday. Might wander to a pub for a pint or two and then come home and have some breakfast, probably left over veg 🙂

Porridge at 6am. Boxing Day Pudding Run completed. Bacon sandwiches now scoffed. Looking forward to Bubble & Squeak with cold roast beef later 😁

Two mugs of tea then 35 miles. Didn't bother putting any edibles in my pockets 😂 Started to feel vaguely human towards the end of the ride. Cheese and ham toastie when home and shortly off to the pub with friends.

Toast first thing.  Then a walk up to a nearby iron age hill fort. Then, just now:

bubble and squeak (roasties, sprouts, red cabbage and roast parsnips);

turkey warmed in the bubble and squeak pan;

homemade stuffing and a couple of pigs in blankets;

A drizzle of warmed turkey gravy (made with wholegrain mustard and a splash of port);

a scoop of chilli jam;

big wedge of homemade Christmas cake for pud;

Food coma on the sofa.

I actually enjoy it more than Christmas dinner coz there's much less prep, cooking angst about meeting expectations and washing up.   Boxing day is so much more relaxed, it's the best part of Christmas for me.

Was planning on bubble & squeak for brunch, but that's been booted back to this evening. I'm more than happy either way.

I settled for a bacon sandwich with home made bread (STW membership requirement), two large mugs of single estate coffee (Aldi) and half of an enormous bar of fruit and nut. Having a break with alcohol free beer now before tackling the cheesecake…

@simondbarnes is that a ruby bitter or a proper mild?

@rocketdog neither of them milds. A Flack's brewery double drop and a Gales (rip) HSB.

Yogurt, granola, flaked almonds and sunflower seeds, summer berry fruit and a spoonful of almond butter. Same of most mornings though the almond butter was preempting my legs being pulled off by the rest of my family on their e-bikes - glad I had the nut butter.

I misread this as "still up from yesterday" and was impressed and appalled in equal measure 🤣

Normal breakfast for me (mix of granola and oats, nuts, dried fruit, yoghurt, banana; black coffee) but somehow, wonderfully, at about 1130 after the kids kept themselves quietly amused all morning 🙏

As the in-laws are here, we had the requisite Full English. Not my favourite thing to eat, but the local Old Spot sausages were very good.

That's my breakfast too. Spoilt myself with Frank coopers marmalade as it's christmas !

My christmas present was a coffee grinder - unfortunately it's as dead as a dodo so going back today 🙁
