How about a boulder in the Vosges?
Sounds painful.
There's a jubilee fund for community events and to celebrate the jubilee.
Apply get some money have. A small street party and plant some trees as a momento.

Only when you come to pass it.
theres boulders on my verge
only because folk were using it as an extension of the road(1& 3/4 width road) and then rattling into the hidden edge of the concrete bridge over the ditch into the driveway at speed writing off tires and wheels.
So i put boulders ups so that even when the grass was long there was an obviously visual reason not to hit the edge of the bridge.
Folk still drive into the boulder god knows what they are looking at but the speeds are lots slower and the damage is lots less.

You'd probably want a memento to commemorate that momento.
(Sorry!)
My dad had this problem in the 80s with a council owned verge outside our house.
Started with cones they got nicked. Got some cones filled with concrete, they didn’t get far with them. Eventually settled on 4 or 5 big decorative boulders. Every now and then someone would leave part of their car on them but never had any trouble, if someone did try and sue you you could counter claim for them damaging you lovely boulder.
if someone did try and sue you you
I'd be asking them to cut up their license and go for an eye test.
