Has anybody used Boston Logan International airport recently. I've got head over for work. Flight lands at 1740 and the last bus to where I'm heading leaves at 1920. Based on my recent Miami experience I'd miss it. Any thoughts? I may just have to hire a car but I'd rather not.

I was there last month.

I'd say that you may not have a lot of spare time but I'd be ok doing that. It's work so you could catch a taxi if it really went wrong, surely? Hire cars are easy too - about 5-10 mins by courtesy bus from the airport.

Last two times took 1 hr to get through immigration. The last time took 30mins to get through customs.

Yep, my recent trips to Boston have been between 30 mins to an hour. One of the better US airports, IMO.

Now SFO on the other hand... *Gets angry just thinking about it...*

All my trips through Boston have been reasonable speedy apart from when I got stopped for extra questioning.

You should make it.

Depends if immigration are having a good or bad day TBH. But an hour and a bit should be ok

Can't be any worse than Chicago Ohare and JFK. Took over an hour. Mind you I've know Manchester Airport (UK) to be horrendous

I live in Boston and use Logan regularly. 1:40 might be cutting it fine, but you should be okay. The longest I've spent getting through immigration there is 3 hours...

Seems to be much worse late at night or at the weekend. For a really quick immigration experience, fly via Ireland and get it over with in Shannon/Dublin. It does mean flying with Aer Lingus though, who are the Ryan Air of long haul flights...

You can pre-clear in Dublin on most Aer Lingus flights and it is miles quicker. Anyone who does the journey on a regular basis should do it this way. Almost all of our business flights go like that now.

I think it's gates 600 plus that are the downstairs ones in the US immigration.

You just walk straight through at the other end in Boston making it much quicker.

Our annual trip through BOS is usually about 45 mins though we do this in early Feb.

Is that JAL 787 still parked up on the apron?
