Haunt him? If it had happened to either Cameron, Clegg or Milliband it would probably haunt them to the end of their political careers (and maybe even help shorten these careers).
Boris? Not a chance. Another amusing tale for him to reference.
It will make him more popular. He'll make a self-deprecating joke about it, we'll laugh, and his personal approval ratings will go up. Most politicians who get caught having affairs have their leadership ambitions snuffed out but Boris is teflon-coated.
