Yo. I've been deemed as the person responsible to replace my mum's clear plastic corrugated garage roofing.  I mean, I didn't ask to be born.... 😉

It's a double sized garage and has maybe two sections in it that are what could be asbestos.

I don't plan to move the potentially asbestos sheets as they seem ok to me, but just overlap onto them.

Are all clear plastic corrugated roofing sheets created equal? There seems to be a difference in price around. Are there any stw artisan plastic sheets recommended?

Any particular rubber bolt head/cap thingys recommended?

A worker fitting corrugated sheet roofing recently

Cheers 👊

I've done a bit of this and what I've learnt is, unless it needs to be translucent, use the onduline bitumen sheets instead. Much more robust and easier to lay.

I've used the onduline ones before, they are good.

Top tip - run a bit of string across the line of the beam you're fixing it to. If not you get a wobbly line of fixings. Not that I would do something like that.

The cheapo clear ones from B&Q go milky in a couple of years, then brittle a few more years later.

If I was doing again just use bitumen, or look for some with some kind of guarantee.

I had a garage once with cement bound corrugated roof, might have been asbestos might not. The house insurers all refused to insure the garage and its contents if it was asbestos.

Anyway it was carefully removed without breaking any and bagged up to the local tip.
