My headset is very grumbly and stiff. I always struggle with getting the right bearings. Can anyone tell me what i need for this fsa tapered headset?

Unless you know the headset model, you'll need to take the bearings out and look at the number on the side / measure them - some only vary by 0.2mm in diameter - I could hazard a guess, but chances are it would be wrong.
Wouldn't mind you hazarding a guess mate, need to order something today and not got my bike with me to look at the current bearings
Many options, even from FSA.
From the look, possible it's this headset http://www.fullspeedahead.com/products/headsets/no-51-tapered-headset/

Then you have to work out what the bearings are.
Cheers for that. Looking at prices of the bearings I may as well get a whole new one maybe? Do all tapered ones fit all tapered frames? This is an internal tapered whatever that means.
Internal means the bearing part of the cups sit inside the frame.
Tapered 1.5in to 1-1/8in should fit most frames of same spec. In your case has to be internal tapered headset.
Changing the headset is more of a faff as you've got to get the old one out (headset remover tool or bodge job) and need a headset press to fit the new one. Changing bearings is generally easy.
If you find the exact spec of the bearings, try simplybearings.co.uk for cheaper ones. Though ACBs aren't typically that cheap compared to straight bearings.
I've also used Superstar who do bearings that match mine for reasonable prices.
