Why do boots run out of eyelets then get replaced with hooks, I felt a right divi when I fell all my length almost wiped a woman out too as my lace loop hooked on a hook
Am I the only one to have done this ?

Been there, done that.

Double loop your knots.

So you can get them on and off without unthreading the laces from eyelets. A degree of perambulatory competence is assumed. Have you considered Velcro?

Never had any issues with my CATS, try asking mum to teach you how to tie laces.

😛

I've come very close. It's usually after my feet have been crossed up on a bench and the lacing is exposed.
A work colleague has launched himself across the car park.

my lace loop hooked on a hook

I've started tucking the loops in the top of my boots.

Are you talking about the loop from the lace on one boot becoming entangled in the eyelet of the other boot, thus creating a comedy shoes-tied-together scenario? Would honestly not have thought that possible!!

Phrase of the day right there!

yes. I was shuffling because of a big suitcase and trying to get on the escalator.

Also my preferred solution.

Some of you may mock but it is quite easy done and can have catastrophic outcome
Don't feel so bad now others have done it or wary of it
Risk assessment tells me always use the hooks as less chance but times im lazy with tying my laces
Devalt the yellow tool company boots they were

Mid top skate shoes are particularly bad for this.

Seen my mate get his right shoes caught on his left laces and belly flop in the middle of the pub. Laughed my ass off.

Then it happened to me in the woods only I grabbed a tree on the way down which somehow ended with me having both shoes attached together with all my weight on them. Stuck like some kind of stupid clown alone in the woods

Is there another way?

I read this earlier and thought the OP was daft.

I ran from the van to the office having slipped on my boits (laces tied but not hooked round basically two big loops...

Yep one loop snagged a hook and i went headling into a door big old bruise forming just now

Actually, I think he means catching the loop of one lace on the fast-lacking hook on the other.
Something I’ve never actually done, but I’ve heard of hang-glider pilots crashing in the past due to catching speed-lace hooks on their boots on the glider rigging and not being able to untangle themselves.

I hate to tell people how to suck eggs, but tie your laces properly with a double bow and don't leave big loops flapping about..

It's kinda obvious when you think about it.
