What do you suggest, not specific walking boots or Wellies, more the Timberland/Cat boot shape but decent quality so they'll be robust enough for dog walking and general dossing about without much in the way of care & not so expensive I'll not want to get them muddy..

Seen lots of interesting suggestions over the years I'd never heard of before, but being as my favourites have disappeared and search function is useless, help me out..

Always liked Blundstones for their simplicity, and they last for years with lots of abuse and no care whatsoever.

****-me ones ?

You both have some strange idea's about timberland/cat type boots, the only FMB's I'm interested in are my g/f's.

See this is why I love STW, I've never even heard of Blundstone before..

Brilliant boots, these are my personal fave

wear these for everything pretty much and they always look decent after a quick brush.

Got some UK forces issue haix boots off eBay for £35 buy it now. Grade 1 condition. More or less brand new. Zero ware  on the soles and hardy any creasing on the toe box. Really comfy as they are issued to people that drive. Think retail new is upto £150

If you are walking the dog in them, and they will get muddy, I’d just get some walking boots. If you want cheap could look at karrimor (spit!), hi-tec, or much better some Berghaus in the sale (which are what Brashers are called now they have been bought).  The full leather ones are particularly comfortable and easy to clean.

Altberg are great, but certainly not cheap.

Thanks for the other suggestions, not heard of them either Haix or Altberg, but I have had para-boots, they take ages to tie the laces up!
I do already have walking boots but there a big old boot I bought for last winter, and am eyeing up some Berghaus Hill Walkers when they come down to £80 again for longer warmer walking, but I want something more causal for the pub and meandering

Lots of casual stuff comes up on Sports Pursuits.  I've had some Ecco boots, which I'm happy with.

Look on eBay for Meindl Desert Fox - they’re the boots issued to British troops for Middle East operations, and they pop up fairly regularly. I’ve got four pairs, two unworn (by me), three pairs were as new, one pair had been worn and had some staining and wear on the uppers, they retail for £169, I haven’t paid more than £38, two pairs cost less than £30, and I wear them practically all the time, they’re so bloody comfy!
