Nah. Delete it.

On a side note it's nice to see the mods take requests 🙄

i assume this is in reaction to the pole dancing nurse thread.

There was nothing explicit or erotic about that video. The censorship on this site has gone way too far.

It did tend to invite the 'wrong sort' of comment though which was probably why it went - trying to police that sort of thread must be a nightmare.

Moderation has gone stupid in the last week or so.

Hmmmm - I wonder if some company is looking to buy this site by any chance? Or if sponsors/advertisers are being told how whiter than white STW is?

No no of course not.

Well, they've done nothing about this thread which surprises me:

http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/this-weeks-mini-movies-on-the-homepage

And they've still got the sweary vids on the homepage, which I complained about as double-standards to the mods, but they've not bothered to get back to me or do anything about it.

I get the reasoning for moderated language (I don't agree with moderating it personally), but there was nothing wrong with that video. You'd see more flesh on show watching 'strictly come dancing' or athletics/swimming/gymnastics.

I thought it was a well shot video of a very dedicated athletic woman who was wearing just as much as any modern female athletes who appear on primetime tv.

Except she was doing stuff that is normally paid for by tucking cash into her knickers. Just cos its done in black and white film doesn't make any difference.
I'm no prude, but there is no difference between that and pole dancing in a gentlemens establishment.

You'd see more flesh on show watching 'strictly come dancing' or athletics/swimming/gymnastics.

The test is whether I'd feel embarrassed watching it with my daughter, or mother in law. I'm not at all sure that I would be.

The pole-dancing video, that is. I'd be massively red-faced if anyone caught me watching Strictly B*******

YOU need to remember that it's THEIR forum and they can do what they like. It isn't a democracy, they want to run it in a particular way and I'm afraid you have to accept it. If you don't like it then go elsewhere, maybe start your own forum?

Come on, that video was far more akin to athletics than to a naughty club. Seriously.
And swearing is just part of our language, it's just a word why would it offend an adult? I see the point about it being filtered and have no gripes with that due to children etc, but half of the words aren't filtered. I've seen 2 unfiltered instances today alone.

I assume the problem with filtering is that if you make it too strict it might start filtering stuff that doesn't need it. I think we can be all adult enough not to swear or post certain comments etc as requested by the mods. I like the way they trust us with this.

Surely it's just common sense to filter the s and p words?
I quite liked it when they inserted "crikey" (or was it "cripes"?) in place of the offending word. Used to make me chuckle.

While the content of the vid may have been Ok ( But I doubt it ) the usual suspects came out with the usual misogyny and leching that is at best distasteful.

If you want to look at women with few clothes on and leer at them then I do believe their are sites for that sort of thing.

I think the censorship of the swearing has gone too far but I can only applaud the way they got rid of the leching.

But there's no nurse in any video.
Theres a rather attractive young lady who used to practice as a nurse, but no pole dancing nurse.

[i]But there's no nurse in any video.

The video was introduced as someone who phil did his nurse training with, and therefore it is reasonable to use the term in reference.

If you are going to attempt to argue at least put some effort in.

If you'd read what phil had said you'd notice the fact that she was travelling around the world promoting pole dancing and not putting the nessacery hours in to remain a practicing nurse, therefore an ex nurse.
Is that enough reason to call her an ex nurse. I used to fit carpets but i haven't fitted one for a couple of years now, does that still make me a carpet fitter or an ex carpet fitter?

Really, how long did you think a video of a pole dancing ex-nurse was going to last, given the activity of the mods this week?

Pretty dumb timing if nothing else.

Yes Dear.

As I said above, the initial reference was to her relationship with phil, which included the fact that she had trained as a nurse, therefore, and I'll type it r-e-a-l-l-y s-l-o-w-l-y so you get it, it is reasonable to refer to her in those terms.

The video was cool, it was not erotic or even mild titillating. It was enlightening in the same way that a non bike rider might find a Danny Macaskill video enlightening.

The dancer was wearing athletic clothing not dissimilar to those that you would see on the the start line of the women's 100metres.

I honestly saw nothing wrong with the video. For anyone that didn't see it it was closer to cirque du soleil (in sportswear) than it was to Spearmint Rhino.

My god she was strong. As an example of a highly trained athlete she was exemplary. As an example of a sexist or leery spectacle, she was nothing of the sort.

muppetWrangler; TBH chap, your (or mine, or any poster's) opinion of that video is largely irrelevant.

Pole dancing has one connotation in our society, and that's pretty much the start, middle and end of it, and as I said earlier, given the activity of the mods this week, the timing was at best ill advised, and at worst; clearly baiting...It was only ever going to end one way.

There are sites where I'm sure you can find other Pole dancers, clothed, or otherwise. 😉

nickc, after seeing that video my thoughts on pole dancing changed and that is as good a reason as any for it to have remained viewable.

The woman featured in the video was as far removed from pole dancings undoubtedly seedy origins as the heavyweight champion of the world is distanced from a Saturday night punch up in a pub car park. How can opinion ever be changed if were not allowed to have our preconceptions challenged?

Her prop was a steel pole, had she done a similar act using a length of material suspended from the rafters I doubt anybody would have raised any objections, and she'd probably already be booked for the Royal Variety performance.

Its a great pity that people cannot see how and why the video is not suitable for this site and that it would clearly lead ( as it did) to misogynistic leering and leching.

Pole exercise is really big business now. Loads of clubs out there catering for both sexes and all ages. You need to be strong, flexible and have great body tension to do the workouts well.
