I like watching these auctions, some of the prices seem way over the top (1972 Porsche 911T) but maybe they are exceptional condition. Gullwing Merc 300 seemed about right compared to the others I've seen sold.

the Merc was a lovely car! asked our 12 year old how much he thought the E type that raced at Le MAns went for he guessed 150k, his face when the starting bid was 5 million was and i hate to say this but it fits it so well priceless.

My car was previously sold by Bonham's a few years ago, not quite £5 million though, more like £2000!

Some crazy prices. Skilled auctioneering, wasn’t it.
“Any regrets already sir?”
“Was that a dog or a bid” made me laugh.
Bids going up by $250k 😲 on the Jaaaag.
Interesting, a mates FIL has a xk120, that’s worth a fair bit.
Bloke at the end of the road has a GT3 993. That’s got to be worth £££.

One of the Bonhams car guys is a member of my local roadie club. Lovely guy (rides a full campag Custom Sarto in Bonhams purple) and knows a hell of a lot about all sorts of cars.

He also works really hard for the perks!!
