Worcester Greenstar Junior boiler with a Honeywell remote.
Will any 3rd party remote connect with the box of tricks on the wall connected to the boiler or do I need to replace that as well?

Is there a reset pinhole?

We've got a Honeywell Thermostat/timer thing on our boiler. It has lost the majority of the display, I think they're just crap. If it's the same one, only two wires on/off so any replacement timer/stat will do.

You'll need to replace the receiver and the remote. They usually come as a pair. Last time I tried to find a Honeywell remote stat by itself it was 90% of the price of the full thing.

My Honeywell controller display stopped working. Take back off the unit, and inside is a button battery that is for power back up, removed it, and replaced it (with the same battery) and it resets and came back to life. Run for another 2 years since with no problems. There are some YouTube videos that show what to do.

I've got a Honeywell CM927 that's dropping segments from the LCD display - a quick google suggests popping it apart and using a hairdryer to soften the glue that holds the ribbon connector to the display (not so much it unsticks!) then press it down firmly. Going to give that a go later this week.

Ours (T6R) went funny when it was left in direct sunlight on one of the mega hot days, and the display was unreadable. I put it in the fridge to cool down, which helped. It was all back to normal after a few days.

Just tried the heating of the Honeywell LCD as I was curious after googling it.

Managed to get most of it back.

On the videos online, lots of talk about clamping the whole lot and heating the whole lot. Fairly certain it's just the ribbon cable that needed re-sticking/heating.

In fact a few jabs with a tooth pick where it joins the PCB made more difference than trying to melt it over the toaster.

Just did mine - I got the lcd out, a few bulldog clips around the edge then 30s ish over the toaster. Left it to cool for about 20 mins then reassembled and I've now got full temperature and clovk/date display but some of the text is still a bit borked. Good enough for now though - only had a couple of segments on time and temp when I started.

Soldering iron + generous quantity of liquid flux + sliding it over the end of the ribbon cable might do a better job than the hairdryer.
